We repaired our GE Slide-In Range
We repaired our GE Slide-In Range with help from Part Select. Our digital control center touchpad was slowly failing, with increasing numbers of touch buttons failing so we disassembled the control area and found two two areas of suspicion. The Part Select website was GREAT with excellent diagrams for each part so we took a chance and ordered the less expensive part, it arrived, we installed it, and alas, it did not fix the problem. We did "on line chat" with customer service and she recommended shipping the first part back and order the other part, which we did. It was out of stock but they had it for us in 3 days. IT WORKED and the range and digital control center are like new. Today we received the full refund for the unused part we shipped back. Part Select saved us hundreds of repair dollars and maybe even the cost (4 figures) of a new range. Well done Part Select and customer service rep Ashley - she is GREAT!!! M&J in Chesapeake VA

My oven control number pad has several numbers as 3,5, 7 & 9 that appear to stick or not activate when touched. It may take several tries before able to enter a temp setting and start key to get panel to work. This affects both upper and lower ovens when attempting to set temp or times. Is the part # control ui, ps5573482 the correct part for correcting problem. All other keys and functions on main control panel are working great.
For model number PS978ST1SS

Code F760
For model number PS978ST1SS
Hello Angela, Thank you for the question. The F760 error codes indicate a Main Logic Board internal signal error and the Range User Interface Control Board will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

My range is constantly shutting down. I'm thinking it was something with a temperature sensor on the board somewhere. Any guidance?
For model number P S978S T1SS
Hello Levi, thank you for your question. That issues is usually caused by a faulty sensor or the board itself. We would recommend testing the sensor. There are two sensors, one for the upper and one for the lower oven. PS10059162 is the sensor for the lower oven. To test the sensor, use an ohm meter to check for resistance. The sensor should read between 1000 and 1100. If the sensor is working properly, and tests within those ranges the sensor is not faulty. The upper oven sensor is part number PS236398. The testing is the same for this sensor s well. If the readings are significantly different the sensor would have to be replaced. If not, the electronic board is the issue. I hope this helps!

The range shut down. I replaced the control panel, but it is still not working.
For model number PS978STISS
Hi Claudia,
Thank you for your question. If the range is not working and you have already replaced the oven control board, the issue could be the oven sensor and you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature and it should be unplugged from the oven. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use a multimeter, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Control panel no power. Door opening lights come on. No display on control panel
For model number PS978ST1SS
Hello Khalid, thank you for your inquiry. You will need to test both the User Interface PS5573482 and the Glass and control panel PS3654157 with a multimeter. Good luck with your repair.
Code F760 ordered part PS5573482, range user interface control board, installed and work, used cook top last night and now this morning won’t work, shut off breaker and now have code F760 back. Any idea what may be the issue?
For model number PS978ST1SS
Hello Amy, Thank you for reaching out. GE is suggesting if the Main Board did not fix the issue you may have a wiring issue between the board and touch pad or a faulty Touch pad. We hope this helps with the repair!
The cooktop keeps turning if on it own about every 20 seconds. Do I need to replace the board?

The oven lights go on, but the glass display is completely black and the range no longer goes on. Would that be the entire control panel or just the control board. Before it went out, it was impossible to "lock" the range as that button no longer worked.
For model number PS978ST1SS
Hi Jack, thank you for the question. Based on the description you have provided, we would recommend checking the user interface control board, part number PS5573482. It sends electronic signals to the burners when you select the cooking time or temperature. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!
