Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This refrigerator compressor start device helps initiate the cooling cycle by providing the electrical boost needed to start the compressor motor. Once the compressor is running, it automatically disconnects the start circuit to prevent overheating and includes overload protection that shuts off power if excessive heat or current is detected. This component is rated for 127 volts and 5 watts and features a three-terminal configuration. Replacing a faulty start device can help resolve issues such as the refrigerator not cooling properly, repeated clicking noises, or a compressor that fails to start or runs intermittently.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Great Part, Easy Fix
I acquired an older Frigidaire refrigerator as part of a home purchase and it would only run for about 5 seconds, then click off. This part was easy to replace and fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. Running great ever since.

Warm fridge and freezer
After checking the capacitor and 3 in 1 starter run relay for continuity and both measuring , I was able to remove the old parts and install the new parts for the refrigerator after unplugging the unit. I also checked the new parts prior to installing. I also went on Parts Select and watched some very helpful videos. Thanks a lot for you

Is there a way to test the starter? My compressor starts and runs about 20 seconds, and the thermal protector kicks out and the compressor stops. The fans keep running and several minutes later it restarts and kicks out in about 20 seconds.

Hello Andy,
Thanks for your question. This arises most commonly due to a faulty thermostat. Test the thermostat, starter, and any capacitors with a multimeter for electrical continuity, and replace them if they do not show continuity.
I hope this helps.
