If your gas igniter does not glow, or if it glows but will not light, you may need to replace this part. The flat glow bar igniter is in the back of your gas oven. You will need to remove the access panel on the back of your oven to disconnect the igniter. Be sure that the gas source to the oven is shut off before you begin this repair. This part is sold individually.

Easy repair, perfect part
My husband was able to repair my mom's old Tappan oven . It was so easy to find the correct part online. It's important to maintain this oven because she is 93 and can't learn the knobs of a new oven. Works perfectly now!

Stove Fixed in a Jiffy!
The part arrived quickly, my husband installed it with little or no issues. He called the company to confirm a few installation questions. He was happy they were quick to respond and also answer his questions clearly and without issues.
My stove is NOW working and I am so happy not to have to replace the entire stove during the Holidays!
Thank you,

What is difference between bake igniter # 316489400 the replacement for # 316428500 and the flat glow bar igniter # 318177710 which is what the part on my unit look like but is not listed as a replacement
For model number FGFL67DCA
Hello Julius, thank you for your question. The Flat Glow Bar Igniter Part Number: 318177710, is the igniter for the upper burner in your oven. The Bake Igniter Part Number: 316489400 is the igniter for the lower burner, or bake burner in your oven. The main difference is the way the mounting bracket is designed on them. They mount differently in the oven. I hope this helps!

I need to replace the broiler igniter- part 316428600 replaced by 318177710. I notice a very wide range of prices on various websites from $30 to $190. The only difference seems to be the higher priced ones are shown with the plastic connector and the other ones look like I would have to splice the wiring together. Is that difficult to do? Seems like the >$100 difference for the part is only due to the connector.
For model number 790.78779400
Hi Craig, Thank you for the question. I do not recommend using an igniter not made for the model. The amps can be different and more then likely would not work on your appliance. I also do not recommend splicing the wires. It is always best to replace the igniter with the OEM part specified for your appliance. Hope this helps!

How long should it take for the oven igniter to light and if it doesn't light within the prescribe time does that mean the igniter must be replaced.
For model number FPGS3085KFH
Hello Earl, Thank you for your inquiry. It should only take about 5 minutes to light and if it does not light after that time, I would check the ignitor, spark module and safety valve. Hope this helps!

The igniter is glowing and outputting 2.6 volts to the safety valve, but no gas flows. Should 2.6 volts be adequate to open the valve (3v recommended)? Pete
For model number FGB500CGSB
Hello Ferdinand, thank you for contacting us. If the igniter is glowing but the gas valve is not opening then the igniter is faulty. That is a safety precaution preventing gas from filling the oven when the igniter is not drawing enough power to light it. It will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

When using the oven, the pilot light comes on but may or may not light the oven. When set for baking below 425 deg it will start warning then turn off. I have to turn it up to 400 to get it to start again.
For model number FGB24L2ASA
Hi Walley, Thank you for the question. It is possible the igniter is defective and not giving off enough volts keep the pilot lit. It should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps or produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC at the oven safety valve terminals while the igniter is glowing. You can test the igniter with a multimeter to determine if it is defective. Hope this helps!

Broiler glows and lights ,oven does not glow or light what part do i need
For model number FGB24S5ABA
Hello and thank you for writing.
The Bake Igniter Part Number: PS1528534. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
You emailed me that part #ps1528534 is the replacement for the lower igniter. My old igniter has the outer bracket like the ps444179.I looked at the upper igniter on my oven and the outer bracket is smaller like the bake igniter ps1528534. are the brakets interchangeable?
For model number FGFL87DCC
Hello Christopher, thank you for writing back. The bracket on Bake Igniter part PS1528534 will fit as the old one did, but if the brackets are different, they may not be interchangeable between the new and old igniters. We hope this answers your question.

Igniter comes on but is taking longer for gas valve to start gas flow. Could this be a worn igniter? Unit is 18 yrs old
For model number Glc5386dcb
Hello Lee, thank you for the question. The issue is most probably with the igniter. There are two igniters in your model. The bake igniter, part number PS1528534, and the oven igniter, part number PS444179. Check both the igniters and replace the faulty one. We hope this solves your problem!
How does the flat bar igniter attach to the burner in the oven?
For model number Ew30gs65gs7
Hello Frank, Thank you for the question. The Igniter has a mount with screw holes that attach to the mount on the burner tube. Hope this helps!

The oven will sometimes come on about 5 minutes after turn on and other times not heat up on at all. The igniter glows and measured output creeps up to 2.6 volts in about 30 seconds after turn on. Should i replace the igniter or the safety valve? Pete
For model number FGB500CGSB
Hi Ferdinand,
Thank you for your inquiry. It does sound like the issue is either the igniter is not lighting or the there is an issue with not enough gas being released. I would check both parts. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
