There is a switch in the freezer with three prongs, I only see 2 prongs on the parts, have they been replaced?
For model number FRS6LF7FW0
Hi Bobbette, Thank you for the question. This switch with the 2 prongs is for the Fresh Food Section, not the Freezer. The switch with 3 prongs for the freezer is PartSelect Number PS899597. Good luck with the repair!

For model number FFSS2614QS1A
Hi John, Thank you for your question. If the lights in both the refrigerator and freezer section are not working then you will need to use a multimeter and check the light socket and the light switch see which part is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I replaced the light switch on my whitewestinghouse fridge but the light still does not go on.I even put in a new bulb. What else can i check.
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. If the light is still not coming on after you have replaced the light switch, you should check the light socket and the wiring connected to it to see which of these is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Refrigerator light was out
Test the light socket first with a bulb that you know is good. If the light still does not come on, unplug the refrigerator, remove the switch by inserting a very small, thin, flathead screwdriver alongside it and pull the switch out slowly with your other hand. There are two wires there. Remove them gently with some needle nose pliers. If you want to test to see if the switch is defective, take a insulated jumper wire, and attach it between the two wires. Plug the refrigerator back in and see if the light comes on. If the light does come on, replace with a new switch by re-attaching the wires and placing it back in the hole firmly.

Switch would not allow door to close.
Removed screws holding unit and removed unit. Removed switch from connectors in unit. Replaced unit without switch. On day switch arrived (delivery was prompt) my wife replaced switch by attaching the two connectors and slipping into unit without having to remove entire unit. How easy was that!!!

Door Would Not Close
I stuck a small screw driver under the old switch & it came out really easy. I just unplugged the 2 electrical connectors, and removed the old switch. Installing the new one was just as easy. I am a woman!

Light switch prevented door from closing.
The switch prevented the door from closing about 5 years ago. So I just taped the switch down, and lived without a fridge light for the last 5 years. Painful! And wasteful (food spoiled because we couldn't see it.) Thought I was out of luck, assuming light switches were all the same, got fed up again, and pulled out old switch,,and searched the net for the part number, and just started calling the manufacturer. I got this website after no luck in calling, and took the step to order...and in no time, got it replaced, and we cam see now! It feels like we got a new fridge!

the refrigerator door was hard to close, and upon inspection I finally decided that the light switch was making the door hard to close.
I removed the door actuated light switch with my index finger and thumb on my right hand. I then removed the two wires from the switch. I noticed that the new switch had different look to it,I think Frigidaire must have had a problem with the original design of the switch. Reassembly was just replacing the two wires and putting the new switch in place, and no more door closing problem.

Light Switch not working properly
After unplugging the fridge, I took a small flat headed screwdriver and carefully pried off the light switch from the inside, right side of the refrigerator. I disconnected the 2 wires from the switch and replaced it with the new switch and pushed it back into the frame of the fridge. Done !! Very very easy !! Thank you

Light Switch too loose so no longer triggered by the door.
Googled it on Youtube - unplugged the fridge, used a paint scraper to loosen the old light switch, unplugged it from the electrical source, connected the new switch, replaced the whole unit into the proper location and pushed it firmly into place.
