We have already replaced the filter cup (which was sent without an o ring) and the filter. We now realize we have had multiple (floods) due to a crack in the filter housing. I only need the housing. Is that available, what price?

Filter housing had cracked and water was leaking in to the refrigerator.
First I turned off the water source to the filter. I then removed the insulation housing for the filter cup using a nutdriver to remove the screw holding it. Next I removed the two screws attaching the filter cup to the refrigerator wall with the nut driver. The most difficult part was detaching the water tubings from the filter cup, it was a matter of sliding the connector in the right direction. I then installed the new filter cup reversing the procedure I followed to remove the old filter cup and insulation housing. My husband was pretty impressed and was especially happy with the repair savings.......it only cost him a dinner out not a $75 to $100 service fee.

Filter Housing Froze Up and Burst
I had to replace this unit after a repair by the local appliance repairman. The thermostat/ damper control failed and the refrigerator section of a side by side froze up.

As far as installing this unit it goes as follows.
1.) You may want to turn off the water supply to the unit just as a safety.

2.) Remove the two screws holding the unit to the back of the refrigerator.

3.) Disconnect the two lines noting which one goes where. A simple pulling of the hose connection sleeve ( pull toward the hose ) will release the hose's

4.) Reverse the process and turn the water back on. Check for any leaks and re-attach to the back wall.

The actuator on the water dispenser was broken and the water filter was leaking
The actuator was easy . . . just remove 6 screws (3 outside and 3 inside) and pull out assembly. The actuator popped out and I replaced it.

The water filter replacement was easy once I figured out how to use the quick connect fittings from the tube to the water filter assembly (see Youtube).

Filter housing was cracked & water was leaking all over the refrigerator
First I turned off the water supply to the frig and raised the bar in the ice make to stop the production of ice. I used the nut driver to remove 3 screws from the housing. I removed the connections from the two water lines & removed the broken housing. I attached the water lines to the new housing and then screwed it back into the refrigerator. I replaced the filter and screwed the filter cup into the housing. Turned on water & ice maker, then ran water thru the door dispenser to check to see if I had done it correctly. No leaks !!! Yeah....I was done !!!

Housing Assembly froze and split causing leakage; original support studs broke
Filter housing assembly removes easily. Two screws removed prior to removing water connections. Replace water connections prior to screwing new assembly into place. Original support studes were old and shattered - easy to remove (careful not to crack the side wall of the fridge when trying to remove). Ensure pin is removed from new support studs prior to installing on side. Once in place, insert pins flush to ensure studs in place.

cracked filter cup and housing
just removed the screws, pulled off the hose and replaced with the new ones. So easy and saved about $175.00 doing it ourselves.
(That was the best part)

The housing on the filter cup was cracked
I removed the old housing (three screws) , pulled it out about three inches and discounnected the two water lines. Then I put the new one on, attached the two water lines & I had water immediately & ice within a couple of hours.
Really it was a no brainer, but I'm sure I saved at least $50 doing it myself.

Leaking water filter assembly
Removed three screws from cover to gain access to the two mounting screws on the water filter housing assembly. How to remove the water line connectors took the most time as I had not seen that type of fitting before. Other than that it was drop dead easy.
