High voltage diode that connects to the hv capacitor. Reads open both ways. Symptoms: Microwave does not heat up water or anything. I am correct? Where is the thermo fuse ? Does it have one.?
For model number ME16H702SES
Hi Hector, Thank you for the question. The fuse on this model, PartSelect Number PS4131369 and is located in with the Microwave High-Voltage Transformer and the Magnetron. If the appliance is turning on and running as normal but dos not have heat, the first thing to check is if the diode has any physical damage. If the diode is good the Magnetron will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

How do I get to and reinstall part #ps4235633.
For model number Me16h702ses
Hi Scott, Thank you for the question. First if you are not comfortable with repairing Microwaves it is best to have a technician come in. Microwaves can hold a charge even when unplugged. To get to the diode you will need to remove the outer cover tot he microwave. The cover is held on by screws. You will need to discharge the capacitor. With insulated handled screw driver, touch the blade of the screwdriver to one of the capacitor terminals and hold it there for a few seconds. If the capacitor has three terminals, use the same procedure to create a short circuit between each terminal and then from each terminal to ground. The Diode is behind the control board. Hope this helps!

Mine works but does not heat... so, as far as diode replacement... is it soldered?? does it screw on?? what about the capacitor?? same question..
For model number ME18H704SFB
Hello Russ, thank you for your question. One end of the diode is secured by a screw to the frame and the other end has a terminal that is connected to the capacitor. For the capacitor, once you locate the part, you would note the orientation of the wires to the capacitor. Remove the wires from the capacitor and remove the mounting screw that holds the capacitor and bracket to the frame of the unit. The new capacitor will fit in the mounting bracket then you would position the bracket in the frame and replace the mounting screw to secure. Reattach the wires and reassemble the unit. I hope this helps!

Everything works on my microwave except it will not heat the food. Thanks
For model number SMH1611S
Hello Dee, thank you for your question. If the microwave is running normally, but not heating the food the first parts you will want to replace are the diode part number DE91-70063D as well as the capacitor part number DE96-00269A. The issue could also be the magnetron, but those parts go bad very rarely. I hope this helps!

Most of the keypad does not work, only the clear button and +1 minute button. Which part needs replacing and can I do it myself?
For model number SMH8165W
Hello Scott,
Thanks for your question. You will likely need a new control panel to fix this issue, part number PS4238754. We highly recommend having a licensed technician install this part, as the internal microwave components can still carry an electrical charge even after the microwave is unplugged.
I hope this helps.
My wife ran are microwave for 10 minutes, with nothing in it, now it doesn't heat. Every thing else works, it just doesn't heat. Any suggestions on what parts I need to replace? Or what I can do to diagnose which part that I do need?
For model number MC17J8000CS
Hello Kim, Thank you for the question. When the appliance is operated when empty none of the microwaves are absorbed. A large amount of energy reflects around the oven cavity resulting in large amount standing waves that can damage the Diode. You can also test the Diode with a multi meter to check for continuity. Hope this helps!

Everything works on my microwave except heating the food. Thanks
For model number ME21F707MJT Serial# J77B7WTG800161A
Hello Alexander, thank you for your question. There are two diodes we would recommend testing or replacing first. Usually heating issues are either the diode, capacitor or magnetron. The part numbers for those parts are diode part number DE91-70063D, diode part number DE59-00002A, magnetron part number OM75P-21-ESGN and capacitor part number 2501-001011. I hope this helps!

Hello,i checked all parts of the microwave and found that one of the magnetron's magnet was broken and dislodged. Can this be the reason for not heating food. What i have to do?
For model number ME21F707MJT Serial# J77B7WTG800161A
Hi Alexander, thank you for your question. If anything has broken directly off of your magnetron then that would cause heating issues as the magnetron is what conducts the heat. You would have to replace that part. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Appears to work, but food not heated
The high voltage tired was shorted. I replaced it with a new one, but that did not solve the problem.
You can test the high voltage tired with a voltmeter and a 9 V battery. Search Search for it on YouTube.
You can also test the high voltage capacitor, the high-voltage transformer, and the magnetron with a multi meter. Search for the procedures on YouTube.
I tested all these high-voltage components with a low-voltage multi meter, and they all checked out OK (after replacing the diode). However the microwave still did not heat food.
When working on a microwave it is important to unplug it and also discharge the high voltage capacitor. The capacitor has a 10 megaohm resister to automatically discharge itself, but it may have failed – – so discharge it manually.
In the end I ordered a new microwave.

Microwave stopped working - would not heat up
I removed the outer cover and exposed the inner workings. I watched a video on partselect.com to show how to remove and replace the Diode. I followed the instructions and it was very easy to replace.
Unfortunately, the diode was only part of the issue. I ended up replacing the High Voltage capacitor and Magnetron also. Those were a little more complicated but still easy to do.
Now the Microwave works just like new! Cost me less than $100 for all parts.

Great service over phone and trouble shooting
I was recommended to get the diode to replace as failing part, and it was on point the problem.
I asked when I purchased the part if it was a common problem and she said yes, so I trusted her, and it worked. My Samsung DE91-70063D microwave was only 2yr old. Thanks for the advise.
