Thermostat Specifications

This is a high limit thermostat designed for microwaves, ranges and ovens. Made of plastic and metal, this thermostat is designed to open the electrical circuit for your appliance when it reaches a specific internal temperature. In some cases, high limit thermostats can become defective and if your appliance will not turn on, or has a specific error code, it must be replaced. This thermostat is a genuine OEM part that is sold as an individual part and can be replaced by disconnecting the appliance from the power, and accessing its panel, usually located near the bottom of your range, or wherever the heating element is located. Reference your user manual for exact location and replacement instructions.

Oven shut off during self clean cycle and door stayed locked.
I took off the back cover after I looked at youtube similar problems. Then removed the little thermostat and un hooked the 2 wires. I looked up the part and after is was delivered couple days later I connected the 2 wies and after putting the back cover on the oven was back to normal. Was such an easy repair and the part was only $11.

Top oven randomly overheats but shows correct temperature, example set 200 shows 200 but actual temp burns food, may work ok for a while but then the same thing happens. The bottom oven works fine
For model number NE59J7750WS

Hi Hugh, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The dual element goes right to high heat on any setting except lo. Is this a thermostat problem or something else?
For model number FE710DRS
PartSelect logo
Hi Wayne, Thank you for your inquiry. If there is a heating issue with the dual element, it is likely with the burner switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello, My oven is reaching the temperature being called for, clicking sounds continue to take place, but the temperature slowly drops. I have to shut the oven off and restart with the original temperature. It will then reach the called temp again and slowly start to drop. I have checked the sensor thermostat and am getting 1080 ohm reading, I don't feel like it is the bake element because the broiler works when wanted, so I feel like it might be the thermostat, but I am not sure. Plus, not sure where the thermostat is to be able to test it for resistance. Would love a bit of guidance and thank you for your time.
For model number NE59M4320SS

Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. To access the thermostat you will need to remove the control panel and then lift the main top. To remove the panel there will be 4 screws under the panel that will be removed and then you roll the control panel off. Make sure that the unit is unplugged to do this. Then remove the screws around the perimeter of the cooktop to remove it. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

We originally had unregulated temp in the oven. I had the temp probe replaced and it is fixed. Now the self clean cycle will start and run for about 35 minutes and then it shuts off. At this time you can see the element is functioning. The door lock is locked till the oven cools down. I was able to access the codes and it shows c-20 and cd-1. Is it possible for the latch mechanism to work and not allow the self clean cycle to continue...i don't want to spend a lot of money on parts as i already paid for the temp probe an service call.
For model number ne59j7630ss

Hello Gerald, thank you for your question. Chances are the issue is with the board. If the sensor was replaced, and the door is latching and locking tightly, the board is probably not receiving the signal that the door is latched to start the cycle. We would recommend replacing the PartSelect Number PS11720510 Main board. I hope this helps!

My Samsung double wall oven, preheats to the correct temperature, but then the temperature slowly declines. You need to “change the temp” or shut off and restart for it to heat back up to the right temp again - it won’t hold a steady temp. We are having the problem in both the upper and lower ovens. Is this the part I need to replace?
For model number NV51K6500DG
PartSelect logo
Hello Cori, thank you for asking. We have researched your model and found that the issue could be caused by a faulty thermostat, part number PS4226434. If replacing it does not help, we would recommend replacing the oven temperature sensor, part number PS4240744. If you need help placing an order for it, please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
