My dryer is leaving brown stripes on my clothes. I have done research and have found that it is the felt or mohair gaskets on the drum causing this problem. Is this correct? Can they be cleaned or do they need to be replaced. Dryer is only 5 yrs old and has been doing this for more than a year. Finally time to do something about it.

Thank you for your question. If you are seeing brown stripes on your clothes, then it is likely the drum felt seals may be the cause. To verify if the seals are causing the issue, take a cloth and rub it around the front and back perimeters of the dryer to see if you get any brown marks on it. If you do, replace the seals. If the dryer is overheating, this will cause marks to appear on your clothes. Make sure you clean the lint filer and the vent to prevent overheating in the dyer. We hope this helps!
