With the dryer “off” and the door open, the dryer starts when closing the door. Assume the white door switch is faulty?

Is this for a complete door cause that is what i was needing
For model number DV42H5400EF
Hi Peggy, thank you for your question. This part is not a complete door. I have linked the correct part down below for you. Good luck with your repair.
Hello Donald, thank you for writing. The door switch PartSelect Number PS4210965 only allows the dryer to run when the door is fully latched. So, it’s possible that your dryer won’t stop tumbling because the signal that the door’s open isn’t being sent. Or, if your dryer doesn’t have an electronic main control board, it probably uses a mechanical timer instead. This Timer PartSelect Number PS9605960 can be found in the control console and uses a small motor to operate cams and switches to control the units functions. A shorted contact in the timer could cause the unit to stay running. We hope this helps.
Dryer says the door is open. White button is loose can’t get it back in tight
