This thermostat is a genuine OEM part and is manufacturer-approved for electric dryers. The thermostat is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the temperature inside the dryer during the drying cycle. A faulty thermostat could result in clothes getting burned because the heating element does not receive the necessary signal to stop producing heat. This is a dangerous situation and could also lead to a fire. Ensure that you disconnect the power source to your dryer before you conduct this repair. This thermostat is connected to the clothes dryer unit by two screws which are sold separately.

Doubtful part
This is a 125vac component. Samsung dryer is a 220vac machine. Don't get this one, get the 220 one. Both are listed for the Samsung dryer

No heat in dryer
I ordered twice from this site. the thermistor was the first order, the fuse was the second order. Turns out the thermistor sent was the WRONG one. When I reassemble the dryer, after 20 minutes the thermistor sent burned up to a crispy chard. The ohms on the wrong part was 12ohms. per the dryer diagnostics the thermistor should have been
... Read more=<1 ohm. I put in the original part and it worked. The fuse did the trick. the thermistor, not so much. Lesson to be learned is to not rely on this sites parts compatibility information. Look at the specs for your dryer from the manufacturer.
Well it went really well until the dryer was put back together as it still didn’t heat. The dryer was taken apart again. This time the thermistors &fuse was tested. Alas, the new fuse was faulty. After putting the car lid fuse back on n, the dryer worked again
Have to remove top panel (screws on upper back), then control panel (screws on front), then front panel and door (screws on front). Good Luck, watch for sharp edges.

My dryer has no heat
For model number Dv422ewhdwr/as
Hi Tracy, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer is 5 years old, approximately 2 years ago it got really hot and smelled like it was on fire. I turned it off, checked everything out and there was no fire. I vacuumed all the lint out and continued to use it. Ever since then it doesn't get as hot as it used to. It now takes much longer for the clothes to dry. Any thoughts about what parts i should replace?
For model number DV393ETPAWR
Hi Glenn,
Thank you for your question. If your dryer is not heating as it should, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the thermostat, the heating element, the thermistor, the thermal fuse, the high limit thermostat, the thermal fuse with bracket and the heating duct assembly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Ordered thermistor for dryer didn't check fuse is this part beside thermistor in exhaust duct? Do you recommend changing this also?
For model number 402.89032010
Hello Edward, Thank you for the question. Yes, the Thermal Fuse, Part #: PS4205213 is next to the Thermister. We do recommend replacing both parts at the same time. Hope this helps!

In the answer to a previous question you suggest testing the thermostat and door switch with a multimeter. What readings should I get on the multimeter to indicate all is good?
For model number DV331AEW
Hi Brad, Thank you for the question. The thermostat should read closed for continuity.Hope this helps!

My dryer starts but there is no heat. I have checked gas line and lint. I have changed a sensor in this dryer about a year ago because it would not turn on but i'm not sure what part could be causing this problem. Thanks, cindy
For model number DV410AGW/XAA
Hi Cindy,
Thank you for you inquiry. I would suggest testing this part with a multi-meter and also testing your thermistor and high limit thermostat as well. Any one of these parts could be causing your problem. Good luck with your repair.
I have a dv218aew/xaa, and when it's on timed dry, it gets down to 1 minute and just continues on and on, and the temperature seems to go way up. What can be causing this? It seems to be working on on sensor dry.
For model number DV218AEW/XAA-0000
Hi Peter,
Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could be causing this issue. I would suggest taking a look at your thermostats and your door switch first. You can check all of those parts with a multi meter. If they are all showing good, then it may be your electronic control board that is the issue. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer will not heat but all other functions seem to work normally. The lint filter, all ducts and even the back of the dryer are clean. Where should i check next? If it was a breaker issue, i assume the rest of the dryer would not work??
For model number DV45H7000EW
Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not heating, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the thermostat, the heating element, the thermistor, the thermal fuse, the high limit thermostat and the thermostat bracket assembly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The little grid on the control panel in the upper left corner blinks red. We cleaned out the vents and motor and it still will not work. My husband thinks it's the thermal fuse that needs to be replaced but I'm not exactly sure. The system won't even start and the blower doesn't move when trying to turn on. It just blinks red and won't go any further. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Megan, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Thermistor and the Thermal Fuse. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. We hope this helps!
Dryer stops working after running Perm Press cycle with small load. Clothes are VERY hot when removed. Had the Blower Thermal Fuse DC47-00016A replaced twice so far. Why so hot its blowing fuse?
For model number DV45K7600GW/A3
Hello Patrick, Thank you for the question. Over Heating normally indicates an Air Flow issue. When the appliance over heats it will blow the fuse as a safety precaution. We suggest opening the cabinet and cleaning out any lint build up in the Cabinet and the Air Duct that holds the Lint Filter. You can also check the hose to make sure there are no dips that can collect condensation and a build up preventing proper Air Flow. If the Air Flow is good and everything is Clear, we suggest replacing the Thermistor at the same time as the fuse as they work together. A defective Thermistor can cause the Fuse to blow and over heating. The High Limit Thermostat on the Heater Housing can also be tested or replaced. We hope this helps!
Can I overpass the termo fuse and what are the consequences.
Hello Waldemar, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, you can bypass a thermal fuse on your dryer; however, it is something that we do not advise. You’ll only be putting your dryer at a high risk of devastating damages like fire outbreaks, which could further affect your home. If you have a blown thermal fuse, replace it immediately. We hope this helps!
