Product Description

Thermal Fuse Specifications

This thermostat is a genuine OEM part and is manufacturer-approved for electric dryers. The thermostat is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the temperature inside the dryer during the drying cycle. A faulty thermostat could result in clothes getting burned because the heating element does not receive the necessary signal to stop producing heat. This is a dangerous situation and could also lead to a fire. Ensure that you disconnect the power source to your dryer before you conduct this repair. This thermostat is connected to the clothes dryer unit by two screws which are sold separately.

My dryer is 5 years old, approximately 2 years ago it got really hot and smelled like it was on fire. I turned it off, checked everything out and there was no fire. I vacuumed all the lint out and continued to use it. Ever since then it doesn't get as hot as it used to. It now takes much longer for the clothes to dry. Any thoughts about what parts i should replace?
    For model number DV393ETPAWR
Hi Glenn, Thank you for your question. If your dryer is not heating as it should, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the thermostat, the heating element, the thermistor, the thermal fuse, the high limit thermostat, the thermal fuse with bracket and the heating duct assembly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

    My dryer has no heat
    For model number Dv422ewhdwr/as
Hi Tracy, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

    For model number 402.89032010
Hello Edward, Thank you for the question. Yes, the Thermal Fuse, Part #: PS4205213 is next to the Thermister. We do recommend replacing both parts at the same time. Hope this helps!

In the answer to a previous question you suggest testing the thermostat and door switch with a multimeter. What readings should I get on the multimeter to indicate all is good?
    For model number DV331AEW
Hi Brad, Thank you for the question. The thermostat should read closed for continuity.Hope this helps!

My dryer starts but there is no heat. I have checked gas line and lint. I have changed a sensor in this dryer about a year ago because it would not turn on but i'm not sure what part could be causing this problem. Thanks, cindy
    For model number DV410AGW/XAA
Hi Cindy, Thank you for you inquiry. I would suggest testing this part with a multi-meter and also testing your thermistor and high limit thermostat as well. Any one of these parts could be causing your problem. Good luck with your repair.

I have a dv218aew/xaa, and when it's on timed dry, it gets down to 1 minute and just continues on and on, and the temperature seems to go way up. What can be causing this? It seems to be working on on sensor dry.
    For model number DV218AEW/XAA-0000
Hi Peter, Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could be causing this issue. I would suggest taking a look at your thermostats and your door switch first. You can check all of those parts with a multi meter. If they are all showing good, then it may be your electronic control board that is the issue. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer will not heat but all other functions seem to work normally. The lint filter, all ducts and even the back of the dryer are clean. Where should i check next? If it was a breaker issue, i assume the rest of the dryer would not work??

The dryer is heating but when it runs through a cycle it ends with a code HE. I have replaced the thermostats and checked the door switch and everything seems to check out on the multimeter. Any suggestions for next steps? Is it possible that I`m getting a false error code? The dryer used to sit on 1 minute on the timer and then run for a long time before shutting off with HE. Now it seems to shut off properly but still shows the error code.
    For model number DV331AEW
Hi Brad, Thank you for the question. The HE Error code, make sure the gas supply cut-off valve is fully open. Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wiring connections on the gas valve coils. Replace the wire harness if damaged. Hope this helps!

        Dryer wasn’t heating
Well it went really well until the dryer was put back together as it still didn’t heat. The dryer was taken apart again. This time the thermistors &fuse was tested. Alas, the new fuse was faulty. After putting the car lid fuse back on n, the dryer worked again
