Dryer was getting very hot
I watched videos so I would know what I was doing. Well No, My thermostat was in the front of the dryer. But after a little blood and sweat, and I am not kidding, I got the front off. I ordered my new part. Finally got it in Spent $40.00 and it still doesn't work. I know it was the right part. I checked all the trouble shooting web site.

My wife said the dryer started burning and stopped heating.
While my wife was using the dryer, she noticed a loud sound and sparks coming from the bottom of the dryer (and an elctrical smell). The dryer stopped heating. When I started taking off the top and front of the dryer, I noticed what looked like a thermostat had melted and burned. I called a local part store and they said they would have

Instead I went online, found this site and the next day I had the part. It took me less than an hour to install it and reassemble the dryer. Me and my wife were very pleased.

The dryer doesn't start, i have the thermal fuse out. How do i test it? Should both legs have continuity?
For model number FSE447GHS0
Hello David, You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Yes both legs or prongs should have continuity. Hope this helps!

Do i need the front panel off to get access for replacing this part?
Hi Ann, thank you for your question. We do not have a video for your model specifically however we do have lots of installation videos that you can view on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/partselect/search?query=dryer+thermostat. There are a few that go over how to install this part from the front. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The dryer runs but has stopped heating up completely just basically air drying. Not sure if its the heating element or what but couldn't find the part on here to replace it.
For model number FRE5711KW0
Hello Megan, Thank you for contacting us. Researching your model, we would recommend checking the thermal fuse/limiter, the high limit thermostat, the cycling thermostat and the heating element. You can test the parts with a multimeter. Good luck with your repair.
Have a Frigidaire gallery heavy duty dryer and the top of the back panel and the rear of the top panel get very hot to the touch. Dryer is about 16 years old and it still dries clothes well. We get an occasional burn mark on clothes. Still runs fairly quiet. Is this a sign of something going bad that should be replaced.
For model number FSE447GHS0
Hi Todd,
Thank you for your question. If your dryer is getting too hot, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the thermal limiter, the high limit thermostat, the heating element assembly and the cycling thermostat. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
