I am looking for a knob on my model #fer231as1... it is item #21 in your control panel diagram. I see the pic on your website of the knob, which is what I need but can you tell me if this part comes with the little metal insert thing on the back side of the knob that connects to the dryer??
For model number FER231AS1

Hi Darlene, Thank you for the great question, Yes this knob comes with the small D shaped clip that fits into the hole on the back of the knob. Good luck with the repair !

The timer for this Frigidaire washer model stops working when it reaches the spin cycle. I see the timer is kind of a sealed unit. Can it be repaired or do i need to replace it?
For model number FWS645GFS1

Hi Tony,
Thank you for your question. You would need to replace it. However you may also want to check your lid switch to make sure that it is still working. If your lid switch is not working then when your appliance gets to your spin cycle, it will stop because it thinks that the lid is opened and that is a safety hazard. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Original timer knob broke
I looked in my appliance paperwork, found the model number, keyed it in, located and ordered the knob. It arrived in a few days and voila, pushed new knob on and dryer is back in great working order. Thanks!

Timer did not work and the knob was broken too
The job was very easy, I just unscrewed the back of the unit (6 screws) and the two screws securing the timer in the front. I then disconnected the timer. All I had to do was reverse the process and I was done. It took less than 15 minutes.

Dryer was missing the grounding ball and making a loud squeal
First I located the two clips holding the top of the machine on and opened the top of the dryer. I then disconnected the two wires on the door switch and removed the two screws holding the front panel on. After removing the front panel, I vacuumed all the loose lint and as far into the lint trap as possible. I then removed the back vent panel and released the drum belt from the pulley. I pulled the drum out of the support bearing. Then I removed two screws holding the drum support bearing, bracket, and grounding ball clip. I replaced the grounding ball and drum support bearing with new parts, (as the drum support bearing was damaged without the grounding ball). Then I reversed the order and put the dryer back together. Overall I felt the job was easy and I'm happy to be able to use a quiet machine again!!!

Had to replace the timer assembly.
Remove the two scews that held it in place. Pulled the element out far enough to replace it. I left the old part on so as not to get confused by which wire went where, and just replaced the part. Very easy.

The Start Button broke in the unit
I unplugged the dryer from the wall and removed the back panel to replace the switch. It only had two wires on the switch I pulled then off and placed them on the new switch and put the unit back together and replaced all the knobs with new ones and it looks new again. Thanks to Parts Select.

EZ Install
The part arrived as it was described. I especially appreciated the brief video showing the install. I would have assumed it would go on the same as the old one came off. But, there was a nearly invisible band on the stem that would have caused problems if the video had not showed it, and that it may need to come off. I did as the video described and all went well.
