Drum didn't trun
Opened top using flat blade screwdriver (pry open), it swings up on what is loosely a hinge on the back of the dryer. Removed 2 sheet metal screws on inside front panel, unplug door switch wiring on right front (looking at dryer), pry open front panel with flat blade screwdriver. Tilt front panel out and remove, may have to support drum, I did not. Slid new belt over drum. Remove access panel on lower right rear to gain access to motor, there is a idler wheel and spring that needs to be reattached, Slid belt over motor pully, idler rides on back of belt, spring to a hole on motor housing, don't remember which one, should be clear of any moving parts. Remove oud drum glide from front panal, follow cleaning directions. Install new drum glide with provided glue, suggest having some spring clamps or clothes pins to hold drum glide in place while glue sets up. Then reverse the steps, be careful when sliding drum back over the glide or you may dislodge the new drum glide. Remember to unplug the appliance before you start, before closing top and rear access panel give it a try.. Think that was about it.

Orange stains on clothes from dryer!
I wish I had searched the problem down several years earlier...

Finally got sick of stained clothes when a new set of cotton sheets got stained. My wife was on the verge of ordering me to get a new dryer. After spending 15 minutes googling (why didn't I do this years before..!?!) I found the answer. Old, worn drum glide!
<br />As with other reader stories, since I gotta take the thing apart to replace the drum glide, may as well replace the belt and lower glide.

Read the other stories for detailed repair instructions. It's not hard, but it does take an extra pair of hands and some patience.

Take the opportunity to clean the inside of the dryer (you have a lot of lint in there, I expect) to prevent fire. Also clean your duct vents. Better safe than sorry!

The belt was worn and the clothes were getting stained
I took the front off, placed the belt quite easily.
I then had to unglue the old front drum seal and drum glide and re glue the new one, but it came with everything I needed so there was no problem.
My clothes no longer get these little brown stains they got. I suppose they were getting caught.

Its wonderful!!

Brown scortch marks on clothes
Washer & dryer are stacked so I had to remove 2 screws connecting dryer to washer and lower dryer to floor. Used scraper blade to release the lid, removed 2 screws and disconnected wire harness to remove front panel. Used chisel to remove seals and "Goof-Off" to dissolve glue residue - it worked great! Carefully cleaned surface, applied glue to seals and clamped to panel. While waiting for glue to set, I removed the drum to replace the bearing assembly (which was in pretty good shape) and vacuumed out the dryer which had a heavy coating of lint (it hadn't been serviced in 10 years). Put everything back together only to find that something was clanging around when the dryer operated (fortunately, I ran the dryer before reinstalling it). Removed the vanes (by removing screw from outside the drum) and found several coins that were causing the problem. All in all, it was a fairly easy project, though using an effective glue solvent, such as Goof-Off was the key to an easy project.

Clothes getting hung around drum leaving rusty marks
Open top of dryer using flat head screw driver. Remover wires off of front door safety switch. Remover 2 bolts holding on front panel . Then i removed bottom access dooor on the back side of the drier. Took belt off of drum. Then i removed drum by lifting up on the back of drum and pulling it out the front. I replaced drum support bearing. With the front panel off. i replaced the seal basket lower, and drum glide top. My drier was almost 10 years old. thats why i replaced the belt and drum support bearing. The drum support bearing was in bad shape. Now my drier is quite and doesnt mark up clothes with rusty marks.

Clothes getting caught in the drum and getting rust stains
Looking from the front at the top cover I lifted the cover with my fingers and inserted a screw driver about one or two inches from each edge.
The top pops loose and lifts up like the hood of a car.
Inside the dryer on either side behind the front panel there is one screw on each side. Remove the screws and lift the entire panel and door. Then swing the assembly out like a door with a hinge on the right. It won't come off due to the wiring harness.
Make sure you study the upper drum glide before removing it. Remove the upper drum glide using Acetone, this is easy but a little messy.
Apply glue, I applied to the drum but if I did it again I would apply it to the glide and clamp it to the drum in three or four places.
This is an income property and my tenants weren't happy so I didn't wait for the other parts. I don't know now if I really needed them. I will replace them anyway.
I realize they make these things easy to repair. It makes the $200+ they charge that much more profitable.
I also vacuumed and cleaned inside.
This is pretty easy and does not require much skill.
Position the panel on the dryer. There are two clips that need to lined up on the bottom and fit the drum back on. Then snap the top cover in and test the dryer.
Remove the top replace the front panel screws and snap the top back in.

I wish I could post pictures there really isn't much to it.
For property owners I would recommend learning how to do this prior to getting a call.
Create a kit of parts that will wear or break. $100 will save you the hassle of ordering under pressure and get you up and running that much faster.

Dryer stopped turning - electrical burning smell
1st, I checked to see if there was anything stopping the drum from turning, that would cause the motor to seize and burn. When that was not the issue, it was evident that the motor was burned out and needed replacement.
2nd, I checked the partselect web site for the parts that would be required to replace the motor, belt, and felt drum guides since I was also getting brown rust stains on the clothes.
3rd, after recognizing that all the parts were in stock and with helpful instructions, I proceeded to take the dryer apart.
4th, unplugged the dryer, removed the cover by removing the 2 back fasteners with a phillips head screwdriver and popped the front of the top off. Remember to slide the grounding wire from the top to the base, found in the back of the top.
5th, I removed the front panel and disconnected the wiring harness. Make sure to mark the connectors so you place it back together the right direction. I placed the front panel aside and also realized the felt strips were brown and the silicon guides were broken, meaning I needed to replace them.
6th, I removed the small back panel near the floor and removed the belt from the idler pulleys and the motor drive shaft.
7th, lifted the drum out of the dryer cabinet by lightly lifting up on the back of the drum to pop the bearing out of the casing on the back of the cabinet. I checked the belt and realized it was cracked and needed replacement. I also noted that the bearing was worn, dirty and needed replacement.
8th, I then popped the spring off the back of the motor bearing, removed the fan housing by removing the 2 screws fastened to the bottom of the cabinet and disconnected the wiring hariness from the motor and the fan. Again, mark the connectors so you know which is up or front when you replace it.
9th, I removed the nut from the fan, recognized the "remove arrow" and used a socket wrench to remove the fan from the motor shaft by turning counter clockwise. there is also a bushing between the fan housing and the motor, and once you get the housing out, you press in the snaps on the side and slide the piece out to release the motor.
10th, I then ordered the parts and cleaned the entire inside of the cabinet, the idler pully's, the exhaust vent, etc. so it was as good as new!
11th, I installed the motor in the fan housing and placed it back in its mount, connected the electric and the front panel and plugged in the cord and turned on the power to make sure the motor worked! Voila!
12th, unplugged the electrical and then proceeded to re-install the fan housing, the drum bearing, pulled off the felt guides, used acetone to remove the adhesive and then added the new, placed the belt on the drum and lifted it back into the cabinet, fed the belt through the pulleys via the back door, connected the power and watched it run!
13th, put the front panel and top back on, connected the vent to the outside and it was all done.

Dryer making noise, discoloring clother and eventually stopped turning
Unplugged dryer. Removed top of dryer. Removed front panel. Remove small access to belt in back panel and note belt configuration thru pullies. Removed plastic guide on front frame, 1 screw. Removed belt. Removed Drum. Lift up drum to release from bearing assembly bracket in back. Small bearing was missing. Removed rear bearing assembly brackets. Removed idler pully assembly, one bolt. Thoroughly vacuum and clean. Scrape off felt on front panel and clean well. Glue on front top of front panel and clamp new felt and guides in place. Replace bearing bracket in rear being careful to replace the small bearing that was missing. I used my laptop to guide me. I had your schematic diagram up on the lap top to make sure I put it back together correctly. Replaced Idler Pully Assemply. 1 bolt.
Unscrew old plate and large ball from back of dryer by unscrewing 3 screws from inside drum. Replace with new part and screws. Put drum back in place and insert in bracket in back. Remove clamps from felt and guides. Put belt in place. Replace palstic guide on front frame one screw. Close front panel. From back access panel thread belt thru pullies. Close back panel. Close top. Allow glue to dry. 2 hours. Test. OK. Allow glue to set 24 hours. Dryer works great. OH yeah. Plug back in..

belt broke
Took it apart, lost several screws cause I am an Idiot, placed belt back on, cut hand on back of dryer bled over every thing, curse loudly, put it back together and wiped the blood off, worked perfect!

I went great, worked fine, thanks for your very quick shipment. I will always buy from you if I can!

Main drum bearing was worn out.
First and most important, I unplugged the dryer and then pulled it out to work on it. Disassembly: I removed the top and front of the dryer, removed the belt from the drive pulley, and lifted the drum out of the bearing seat. I removed the old main bearing from the drum and the bearing seat from the back of the dryer. Re-assembly: I installed the new parts, set the drum back into the new seat, set the belt on the drive pulley, and put the covers back on. It all goes very quickly and easily.
