Microwave losing heating items
Took microwave out of builtin cabinet with 4 screws.
Put microwave on center island and removed cover.
Tested interlock switch with volt meter and it appeared ok so I put my kit back in box and sent back.
Took out magnetron unit and replace with new part.
Put cover back on and test.
All is working and installed back in cabinet. Two weeks later all still working great.

Would not start
Watched a you tube video prior to installing new switch. Followed the video which gave me confidence i was up to the task. After removing the touch pad I found my design was not exactly like the you tube model but I found the defective switch, replaced it and put the microwave back together. Works great. Again watch the videos

Needed to push door up to run appliance.
1. Removed cabinet screws (10-15?). 2. Removed cabinet. 3. Removed top interlock switch which actually was not defective. The press clip connection appeared as if it had been arcing for quite some time and the corrosion created resistance sufficient to prevent the current from getting through the switch. 4. Replaced switch anyway but broke plastic retaining clip despite every effort not to do so. Reset broken clip with super glue. 5. Reassembled cabinet and appliance is in good working condition.

Microwave worked intermittently depending on how door was closed
Remove top grille (2 screws), undo control panel (1 screw). Tilt down control panel, switches are on the left. There are actually three switches that are involved with the door, two horizontally mounted, one vertically mounted. This would be an EASY REPAIR, but it took me a while to figure out which of the three switches was bad, and also took a while to figure out that there is a plastic rod that inserts through the hole in the switch body. Once i figured this out went like a breeze. Lower horizontal switch was the bad one, but since the kit came with two switches i went ahead and replaced the upper horizontal one as well. IT appears that the horizontal switches are probably more likely to fail than the vertical switch based on the position of the switch and force angles. Works great now!

Fan motor and magnetron did not come on, but every thing else did.
Problem would come and go. Found service schematic inside unit. Perform all the suggested tests. One possible solution was the primary interlock switch shown on the schematic and a check found the switch stuck. It would free up some times but would stick again in the open position. Ordered switch which was a simple plug in unit.

Hi, microwave appears to program correctly and add a minute adds a minute, however, light comes on, timer starts counting down as if its working but it does not cook. I had this issue a few years back and paid kitchen aid 300 to come out and fix it. Wondering if it may be something i can replace myself now...all the tech said was that is was some "module" and it took longer to take the cover off than it did to swap modules. thank you in advance
For model number KCMS1555SSS2

Hello Mike, thank you for your question. The module your referring to is probably the electronic control module part number WPW10169272. The issue might be that, but it could also be the door switches, diode, fuse or magentron. The door switches are very easy to test with a multi meter. I have included a link that will take you to lots of great information on the parts that could cause this same issue. If you think the module is the issue, that part is WPW10169272. You can enter that part number into our site to find the price and availability. I hope this helps! https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Microwave/No-Heat/

The problem with my Maytag over the range microwave oven is that with the door shut, the fan (or some sort of motor) appears to run, but not the microwave itself. Will replacing the existing door switches with the door interlock switch kit fix that problem?
For model number MMV1153AA
PartSelect logo
Hello Tim, Thanks for the question. We show that the switches should be tested with a multimeter, and replaced if they show no continuity. Please keep in mind that these parts should only be installed by a technician, as the microwave can still carry a charge even after being unplugged. I hope this helps.

This an Amana electric microwave. The door seems slightly misaligned after 19 years. The microwave usually does not turn on without a slight tug or lift of the door. It may stop before the timer completes. Twice it has stayed on when opening the door. Do these problems indicate a new microwave is order? If the problem is likely just a door switch or capacitor, how do i know which part to order? Is electrical shock likely when replacing these items?
For model number ACO1860AS

Hello Fred, thank you for inquiring. You will want to replace the Door Interlock Switch Kit part PS373050. Be sure to disconnect power to the microwave before replacing this part. Use extreme caution when replacing microwave parts, as high-voltage capacitors can retain an electrical charge when unplugged. We hope this helps.

How does switch 373050 fit into my microwave
For model number JMC 8130DDS
PartSelect logo
Hi Bill, Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. Use a Phillips head screw driver to unthread the screws securing the grill. With the screws removed, open the microwave oven door then the slide the grill to the left and lift it up to remove. Next remove the control panel mounting screw then lift the control panel up to detach. Then remove the screw holding the inner access panel and then release the panel from the retaining clips. Now remove the screws holding the switch assembly. Depress the release tab and the actuator to detach the switch you are replacing. Disconnect the wire connector to fully release the old switch. Install the new door switch by first connecting the wire connector. Now position the new switch in the assembly snap it into place. Realign the switch assembly on the frame and secure it with the screws. Reinstall the inner access panel securing it with the screw. Now insert the control panel tabs to the slots in the frame and push the panel down. Secure it with the mounting screw. Insert the tabs of the grill into the frame and slide it to the right. Shut the oven door and then secure the grill with the screws. Plug the power cord back in and the microwave should now work. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Here is a link that will give instructions on how to test those switches. https://www.partselect.com/Microwave+test-door-switch+repair.htm. I hope this helps!

One of the pivot pins broke on my latch bracket, so i glued it back on and it worked fine. Then, after a while, i found it would only work if i applied gentle pressure on the on switch, and finally, the pin broke off again. So i bought a new latch bracket, and found that i still need to apply gentle pressure to the on switch to make it work. I checked inside, and it seems the latch bracket is making proper contact with the red micro switch on this part when you close the door.

Control panel lights up, all buttons respond except the start button. When programmed the timer winds down but the cooking doesn't begin. Turntable also doesn't resond either.
For model number maytag microwave mmv4184aaw

Hello Zehner, thank you for your question. The first parts we would recommend testing or replacing are the door switches. If those parts are fine, and are tested and are working properly, the issue could be the main control panel. I hope this helps!
