This gasket is a seal for your dishwasher and prevents leaking from occurring. The gasket can become worn down over time and you might notice some discoloration. This indicates a replacement is necessary. The gasket is found in between the opening of the dishwasher tub and the outside edge of the door. This seal is made of rubber and is black in color. This repair requires no tools. To ensure that it is properly sealed into place, shut the dishwasher door, and leave it shut for a few hours.

is there a video link available?

Hello Deb, Thank you for your inquiry. Although at this time, we do not have a repair video for this part, we have found the following installation instructions for you. Pull the old seal out of the channel at the bottom of the door, and remove any sealant with a putty knife. Install the new seal by aligning the seal and pressing it into the bottom of the door and use a screwdriver or putty knife to push the ends in. Good luck with your repair.

do you have to separate the inner&outer door to replace the lower door , part #154859401
For model number eidw6105gs1
Hello Steven, Thank you for your inquiry. This door gasket should just insert into the groove in the bottom of the dishwasher door. You may need to use a screwdriver or a wrapped edge of a putty knife to push the outside edge into the groove and spread the ends to push them into place. After installing the new seal, shut the dishwasher door and leave the door closed for several hours to properly seat the new door seal. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Bottom door gasket leak
No tools needed. Pull out old gasket. Clean the track. Ensure snug fit all across the track, use your thumb to push new gasket into the track firmly.

The sensor showed an E1 leak which is "water underneath the machine"
Went to the website, viewed the schematic and ordered the two gaskets that form the seal around the door and tub, Gaskets should be ordered as a set if you have a leak and suspect the door. We saw discoloration at the bottom edge of the tub gasket indicating that there was water seeping through out onto the floor. The gaskets install by hand without the use of tools. Less than $100 in parts prevented the replacement of a $1,400 dishwasher.
