This Grease Filter is constructed of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene and is used to trap grease and help eliminate odors from the exhaust air while cooking. It attaches onto the exhaust and is rated as easy to install. The part is 12 15/16" x 5 3/4", and comes in silver. Refer to your make and model number to ensure this part is right for you. If the exhaust fan of your appliance is not working, this part is the most likely cause. This part is sold individually, and it should be noted that many microwaves require two filters, so you may need to replace both at the same time by purchasing two of this part. Broken turn plate.
Cleaned the interior of my microwave, cleaned the new plate and simply added to the turn area.
Plastic grille vent became brittle over time and broke when changing charcoal filter.
Replacing the grill is so ridiculously simple (two small screws) that it is hardly worth writing "instructions" for it.
However, ordering the right part is a problem. My microwave has a stainless steel exterior but on your parts list there is no part clearly identified as such. Only black and white. Then there's one for which a
... Read moren "image is not available" so I figured perhaps that might be it. However I received the white part in the mail.
I then enquired if the part with a stainless steel exterior was available, or just its broken plastic base so that I could transfer the stainless steel wrap from the broken piece. The white plastic part that I received does not have certain slots to attach the stainless steel wrap.
However, you merely confirmed that the part I received was white so that was not very helpful. I installed the white part and it looks absolutely horrible on top of a stainless steel oven but it is what it is. But not too happy with your service and website to be quite honest.
BEWARE: KMHS120ESS takes two charcoal filters. This site doesn't tell you that! I only figured it out after ordering one, receiving it, and removing the vent cover to replace it. So then I had to order another one and pay for shipping a second time (which cost almost as much as the filter itself). C'mon PartSelect, why are these not sold

What is the recommended treatment on the two filters in this kitchen aid micro? Change them, wash them, how often? Thanks!

Hello Charles, Thank you for the question. Depending on the age of the filters you can try to wash them in lukewarm water with mild soap. You will need to rinse them and not scrub. If they fall apart or will not come clean you can replace them. Hope this helps!

I am looking for a charcoal filter for my Whirlpool microwave. The grease filter is 5 7/8" x 13". The recommended charcoal filter is approximately 5" x 5" , this obviously doesn't work. How do i find a charcoal filter that fits the size of my grease filter? Or am i missing something about the way the charcoal filter is supposed to fit?
