Product Description
Door Switch Specifications
The door lock switch, or simply door switch, is used in ranges and ovens. The switch activates signals to the oven control board about the state of the door lock. If the light in the oven is not turning on or off, or the self-cleaning option is not working, it is best to replace the switch to solve your issues. The tools needed for this installation project are a flat-head screwdriver, Phillips-head screwdriver, and pliers. To repair, first remove the screws from upper rear access panel, then open oven door to disconnect the door switch wire connecter. Next, remove switch assembly through the access hole and unhook the old hook from the actuator rod. Now you can install the new switch by hooking it on to the rod and back into place. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further installation instructions and guidance.

Door light switch was stuck
Pulled out stove, took side panel off on switch side of oven, unplugged old switch, pulled the old switch out the front of the oven, put in new switch and plugged it in. Then put oven back together and pushed it back into space. (Make sure to turn oven off at breaker box before you make repair) you could easily get shocked if you don’t.

range would not recognize the door wasn't shut
I was required to remove the control panel to access the plug as it had been broken and the switch had been shoved into the unit . It would have been extremely simple if the plug had remained on the outside surface

Oven Door Light Switches Wrecked by Heat from Oven
Pull old switches out with pliers and replugged new switches. On main oven, plug casing was melted (wife left broiler on with oven door closed) so had to break apart old casing and individually plug the the wires into new switch and amazingly, it worked! Just gotta keep the door open when broiling.............

I need to replace the door switch on the feb374chsb wall oven. What's the accepted disassembly procedure to access and remove the switch? And alternately, can it be removed successfully from the front, agreeing that will probably have to be ruined or mangled/damaged in the process.... but why should i care if it is going to be replaced?
For model number FEB374CHSB
Good Day Bill. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number FEB374CHSB). Here is what we can advise you on when it comes to the Door Switch: The door lock switch, or simply door switch, is used in ranges and ovens. If the light in the oven is not turning on or off, or the self-cleaning option is not working, it is best to replace the switch to solve your issues. The tools needed for this installation project are a flat-head screwdriver, Phillips-head screwdriver, and pliers. To repair, first remove the screws from upper rear access panel, then open oven door to disconnect the door switch wire connector. Next, remove switch assembly through the access hole and unhook the old hook from the actuator rod. Now you can install the new switch by hooking it on to the rod and back into place.
