Icemaker flooded the storage container box for cubes. Then froze solid.
Ordered the Part after looking at the choices shown, once I inspected the unit. I then knew by looks what would fit. THEN (important) went on Utube asking for video instructions. They had it on the computer and it was just too easy. What took the longest was the removable of the frozen food items and the drawers in the Bottom Freezer section.
Perfect product, perfect instructions, perfect job and worked perfectly!

Fridge only 18 months old too!

Handyman wanted $457.00 to do the job! HA.

Our ice maker hasn't worked for a few days. I got a little anxious after noticing the arm was up and pulled it down before working the ice loose or thawing out the restriction. Well.. i broke the arm because it's down and won't retract/stay up. our town's water is kind of bad(we don't drink it), is the water quality problem contributing to the problem or is it a engineering problem? what parts would you recommend replacing? thanks for your time.

Hi Lance, Thank you for the question. As long as the water is filtered before entering the appliance this shouldn't be an issue. The parts to the ice maker are not sold sepratly so the ice maker will need to be replaced, PartSelect Number: PS3617225. Hope this helps!

Hello. On this LG refrigerator, i'm having problems with the ice maker. I found some cubes of ice in a block of ice in the bin. So i assumed water was leaking into the bin some how. I thawed the bin and then reset the ice maker with the reset button. It went through its cycle and i heard it fill with water. No water overflowed or leaked through the tray. In about 10 minutes i heard it filling with water again. I opened the freezer drawer to find the ice maker continuously filling with water and dumping the water over and over again. I just cut the water and ice maker off and started doing research which lead me here. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello Chris, thank you for your question. The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to shut off properly. If the water pressure is too low, the valve may not close fully once the power is shut off. As a result, the valve will leak water into the ice maker and cause the ice maker to overflow. Check the water pressure to determine if it is at least 20 psi. If the water pressure is sufficient, the water inlet valve is likely defective. The valve may not shut off all the way or may be stuck open, causing water to leak through the valve. If the water pressure is sufficient, but the ice maker is still overflowing, replace the water inlet valve.

The ice-maker in the freezer of our refrigerator/freezer has stopped putting out ice. The obvious diagnosis would seem to be that it has gone bad and needs replaced, right?
For model number LFC22770ST

Hello Bruce, Thank you for the question. It could be the ice maker not getting water to make ice as well. Try to pour a glass of water into the ice mold to see if the ice maker makes ice as normal. If so, it might be a water inlet valve issue not sending water to the ice maker. Hope this helps!

I have water leaking from around the tube where it enters the back of the freezer. Can i seal with food grade silicone around the tube or do i have bigger problems?
For model number 79576203901
PartSelect logo
Hello Fred and thank you for writing. You can seal it, however this certainly sounds like it could be a faulty water inlet valve PS3533114 (and by sealing the tube it will cause other issues as the water needs to go somewhere), you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

ice maker shut off arm is stuck in up position any suggestions .
For model number 79571312310
PartSelect logo
Hi Harry, Thank you for contacting us. The ice maker arm should freely move up and down. If it is stuck in the up position, try pressing down on it to see if it will move. If it does not go down and there is ice in the ice maker, defrosting the refrigerator may help. Also, make sure the switch on the ice maker is in the on position. If the switch is in the on position and arm will not go down, the ice maker has a mechanical issue and will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

The ice maker produces ice but now the freezer area (where the maker is located) is frosting and icing over. It's as if the water, for making the ice cubes, is spraying all over. What is the solution?
For model number 79571304012
PartSelect logo
Hello Joseph, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the water line that fills the ice maker to make sure it is placed properly and not out of enlightenment causing the spray. Hope this helps!

Will this icemaker work if the refrigerator has never had one before? Also, this is a bottom freezer model. Will it still fit?

A tray of ice has frozen over in our ice maker. It cycles, but doesn't seem to dump the ice. So, once it cycles, the water runs and flows over the cube tray and into the ice holder tray. I used a hair dryer to melt away the ice jam, and it fell neatly out of the tray... but, it happened again a day later. Upon further inspection, there appears to be a hard water build up in the cube tray itself (it seems to be restricting the cubes of ice from dropping). Can I remove the ice maker and clean out the hard water deposit in the tray (using vinegar and water). If so, is it as easy as removing the 3 screws that are visible and undoing the electrical clip?

Hello Fabian, thank you for the question. There are normally two screws holding the icemaker in position. There is only one harness that connects the icemaker to the unit electrically. We hope this helps!

I have the model Kenmore listed above with bottom freezer. The ice maker will cycle then fill with water but at times the water will not shut off and over flows the ice maker mold tray. Is this a sensor or does the complete ice maker need to be replaced?
For model number 795.71319.312

Hi John, it is likely the water inlet valve or entire ice maker assembly needs to be replaced. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
