My problem is that the dispenser flap will not open - the ice drops into the shoot and then the sits on the flap - when i move the flap it seems to have flexible spring action - so should replacing the solenoid fix this?

Thank you for your question. It does seem like that would be the first part to check. You should be able to test it with a multi meter to double check. If it is not that part it may be your control board that is the issue. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Thank you for replying to my concern about my ice maker not dispensing ice. You said to check to be sure the freezer door or refrigerator door is closed completely because moisture can cause the ice make to freeze up. If this is the problem, how do i get it unfrozen and then should the ice maker start dispensing ice again? Thanks!
Hi Charlene, thank you for your question. There are multiple ways that you can try to unfreeze something. You could carefully use a hair dryer on a low setting to melt the build up of ice, or you could use hot water to do so as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

When you depress the button with a glass for anything it will not shut off!

We have researched the model you have provided and we would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: water inlet valve, dispenser micro switch, the dispenser solenoid, and the dispenser control board. My ice maker is not dispensing ice. The little plastic piece that rotates down to push the ice out is up and will not move. There is frozen ice in the container but can't be dispensed out. What needs to be replaced? I have checked to be sure there is nothing blocking it from rotating. The metal arm is in the down position.

Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is not making ice and there is ice build up in the refrigerator, please ensure that the freezer door is closed securely after each time you use it. Even if you are just using the fresh food compartment, check the freezer door while you are there. When doors are left partially open, (even a crack), warm moisture laden air is sucked into the refrigerator and then condenses on cold surfaces, such as the evaporator, and everywhere in the freezer. This causes the internal air flow to be restricted and temperatures will rise. At the same time, the ice maker moving parts will freeze up and ultimately fail. Ice dispenser will not crush and dispense crushed ice. Will this part solve that problem

Thank you for the question. It sounds like the problem is most likely a defective dispenser board. If the dispenser door opens on the cube but not crushed and auger motor does not work on crushed. but the solenoid is still working for cubed ice then the board may need to be replaced.
