Part Number 11743310

This is a shut off arm for the ice maker in a refrigerator. When the shut off arm has reached maximum height, it triggers the switch to shut off the ice maker so it does not continue to make ice until the level of ice in the ice bucket begins to drop. Question:

How can i adjust the water into my ice maker?

Rudy for model number PS358591
Answer:

Hello Rudy, that is a great question. The ice maker control board would have a solenoid in it, this controls the water flow to the ice maker to keep it from over flowing. Hope this helps!

Question:

Ice maker is not making ice. It does not appear water is going into the tray area, yet water is coming into the refr. As you can still use the water glass fill, at the door. I could always order a new ice maker, but hate to do same, removing and installing a new one and finding the problem is elsewhere. Help!

alan for model number ed2chqxkq05
Answer:

Hello Alan, thank you for contacting us. That sounds like it would be the icemaker control assembly. This part controls all the ice maker functions as well as the solenoid which controls the water flow to the ice maker. When this fails you will still get water to the dispenser as the water inlet valve still works properly. Hope this helps!

Does the ice maker come with a new shut off arm.

Paul for model number 626636
Answer:

Hi Paul, That is a good question. The part does not come with a new shut-off arm. You will have to use the one from your previous ice maker. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Question:

I've been out of town for 5 months & had put the ice maker arm into the 'off' position before i left. When i got back, i lowered the ice maker arm into the 'on' position, but the ice maker is not making any ice. I don't have a water dispenser, so how would i know if i need to replace the ice maker or if water is even coming into the ice maker -- i.E. If the line is clogged & that's what the problem is? Fyi, i'm in venice, fl where hurricane irma hit & the power was off at my home for a couple of days in august.

Mari for model number ET1CHEXVQ04
Answer:

Hello Mari, thank you for contacting us. That could be a few things. It may be the water valve solenoid, when the ice maker asks for water it is not responding. It may be a frozen water line. You can test the ice maker by pouring some water in the tray and seeing if it gets ejected after it freezes. If it does then there is an issue with water getting to the ice maker, either frozen line or bad water valve. Hope this helps!

Ice maker didn't produce ice cubes.

It was not complicated but it took more squeezing and reaching into the narrow space than actually removing three screws and unplugging the electrical harness. But that was all that was necessary, to install, three screws held the unit in place and re-connect the electrical harness. It saved me about $100 in labor and the inconvenience of scheduling a service call and waiting for a week or so. The best part was that I ordered the unit on line on Tuesday eveining and it was at my home by Friday afternoon with no extra shipping charges. Great service!.

Would not make ice any longer

I determined that the ice cube maker was no longer heating the cubes so they could be released into the ice tray. After ordering a new unit, taking out four screws and disconnecting the quick disconnect of wires I plugged the new one in and we were back in business.

Replaced non-functional ice maker

After first unplugging the refrigerator from it's electrical power source,I removed the lower screw of the ice making unit with a nut driver. I then loosened the upper two screws which hold the retainer clips that secure the unit tight to the freezer wall. I then lifted the unit upward and outward a few inches to allow access to the wire harness. I unplugged the haness from rear of the freezer and removed the unit completely.
To install just reverse the procedure.

Ice maker was leaking and had metal in the ice

Removed the screws and disconnected the electric. I put the proper electric harness on and went to fit the unit in but it didn't fit. Until I figured out that you have to use the clips from the old unit that hold the unit in place. The actually hang on them. Once I figured it out it was easy.

Unit would not cycle and dispense ice. After replacing with new unit I disassembled old unit and detected a slight burn smell in the timer.

Unplugged refrigerator and turned off water supply. Loosened two top screws and removed bottom screw. Althought kit was supplied with multyple wiring harnesses the harness attached to unit was the correct harness for the model I was replacing. Removed and reused old shut off arm as replacement arms were shorter in reach then original. Also reused bottom unit support that was removed and replaced with one screw into unit and then into side wall of freezer. Over all time less then 15 minutes. As this was a side by side ref/freezer unit their us limited space to view support screws. I used a mechanics mirror to find upper screws. This visualization made the process go much faster. Reading the other repair stories also gave me a huge confidence boost and insite in what to expect.

Icemaker died

The instructions are practically no help, but if you study the diagram, you can figure out the one screw you need to remove. Then the icemaker lift off of two brackets. I couldn't see how to use a screwdriver to unlock the bracket, but just applying mild pressure and pulling it forward brought it right out. I didn't have to change anything with the plug already intalled so it was very easy to pop in, lock the plug, pop into brackets, replace screw and I was in business. 24 hours later I had a bucket of ice! 15 minutes to figure out how to get old out and 5 min to replace new one. Fairly easy. Read posts here to get hints!

Ice maker wouldn't work

Ice maker wouldn't eject the ice often enough. After reading a few other stories, I just ordered the universal ice maker from Part Select. All I had to do was remove some of the plastic shrouds from my old ice maker and put them on the new one. I also reused my mounting brackets. The whole job took me 20 minutes.

Ice maker was not working.

On my particular model refrigerator I only needed to remove one screw and disconnet the plug. I then slid the unit out. The new ice maker did not come with the plastic sled that was attached to the old unit. I removed and attached the sled to the new unit with 3 screws.
