Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
Ice maker not working but making a sound when turned on (buzzing). Water valve not functioning when tested with a multitester (multimeter).
I removed the old water valve, disconnected the water tube going in and tube going out to the back of the refrigerator. New water valve bracket different than the previous one which resulted in my having to modify it to fit. Not an easy task as it was preformed metal. Once hooked up, water turned on, and ice maker turned on, the sound I'm getting now is clunking and not making ice. My debate is whether or not to purchase a new ice maker or revert to the tried and true method with ice trays which work every time.

Hello Donald, thank you for your question. The water valve assembly comes with a main valve and secondary valve. You can test the valves using a multimeter to verify which one has failed. The manufacturer part number for the valve is part number AJU55759303. Here is some information on testing the valve: Locate your water inlet valve, it is typically located behind a refrigerator. Gently pull your refrigerator away from the wall. You may want to place scraps of carpet, of some other soft material below the fridge to prevent damage to the floor. Turn of the water valve's water supply by closing the shut-off valve in the waterline leading to the water valve. Place a container under the valve to catch any water that may spill from the water valve and its fill tube. Remove the water valve's fill tubing. Loosen the flare nut on the brass fitting that is found on the inlet side of the water valve. You can use a wrench to loosen the flare nut. Your water inlet valve is held in place on your refrigerator by means of a metal bracket. Use a screwdriver or a nutdriver to remove the screw that holds the water valve's bracket to the refrigerator cabinet. Gently pull the water valve out of the cabinet, and remove the tube from the outlet port. There are two wires connecting to the terminals of your water inlet valve. If yours is a double solenoid water valve, it will have four wires. Be sure to label each wire so that you know where to reconnect them later. Firmly grasp the metal connector of the wires in order to remove the wires. You may need to use a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Do not pull on the wires themselves. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. If the test you conduct with your water inlet valve does not produce these results, then you should replace the component.

Will this part fix the jackhammer sound when ice maker is filling?
PartSelect logo
Hello Mary, thank you for your question. The issue might be the water inlet valve, or the water filter housing if your appliance has a water filter option. I would recommend checking the filter, filter housing, and the water inlet valve. I hope this helps!

When i turn on the ice maker all i get is water running through it. Does not make ice.
For model number 795.78093.901

Hello Jeff, Thank you for your inquiry. Check the freezer temperature first to make sure it is at least 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, test the temperature sensor/thermistor and the defrost thermostat with a multimeter to see if they have continuity. If they test ok, you may need to replace the ice maker assembly. Hope this helps!

Hi Curtis, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not making ice, then the water inlet valve is one of the parts you will need to check. You will also need to check the ice maker. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. My ice maker is making ice but clumps together after its in the bin, is this a water valve issue and where is the valve?
For model number LFC25765ST
PartSelect logo
Hi Keith, thank you for the question. Based on our research, the issue is not with the water valve. If the ice bin is not regularly cleaned, ice particles can build up in the ice bin and can cause clumping. You may need to clean the ice bin with water and a soft cloth. If the issue persists, we would recommend replacing the defrost sensor assembly, part number PS3636324. We hope this sorts out your problem!
