Refrigerator not cooling
Used a screwdriver to remove covers. Used a blow dryer to defrost coil in freezer. Cut zip tie and removed old controller assembly. Inserted new controller assembly and secured with zip tie. It took 24 hours for the fridge to cool completely. Now it works fine.

Does this refrigerator have a defrost timer.

My symptom is inadequate cooling in refrigerator. Freezer is fine. Is there a separate thermistor or thermostat for the fresh food area. I only see one in freezer.

Hi Mike, Thank you for the question. In the top right hand corner at the back of the fresh food side there is a sensor, PartSelect Number PS3529165. If you have a Multi Meter you can test the sensor to see if it is defective.The readings should be 77K ohms at -4 degrees, at 23 degrees F 38.4K ohms, at 32 degrees F 30K ohms, and at 41 degrees F 24.1K ohms. Both the refrigerator and freezer do not cool enough, temperature is at 40 degrees f

Hi Johana, Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that you can check to see if they are working correctly. You should check your defrost thermostat, and your defrost heater. My refrigerator is getting to proper temp and makes ice. Then about 12 hours later its room temperature and the ice is melted. And it will keep going through that cycle. Do you think this part would fix that problem?

Hello Derek, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Thermostat, PartSelect Number: PS3529338. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!
