Dryer has power and dries clothes. Does not turn off when cycle ends but no heat after cycle ends just cool air. Have to open door to stop tumbling.
For model number DLE1101W
Hello Deborah, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the door switch, PartSelect Number: PS3529308 to see if that fixes the issue. If it does not, it could be an issue with the timer switch. The timer is built into the control board on this model, PartSelect Number: PS3646019. It is not repairable so it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps!

My LG dryer powers on and allows me to change settings but will not start when we push the start button. Could this be a door switch or control panel. Thanks for your help.
For model number DLG1102W
Hello Biran, thank you for your question. The first part we would recommend testing/replacing is the door switch. If this doesn't activate the unit will not start its cycles. The door switch for this unit is PartSelect Number PS3529308. I hope this helps!

Today morning the dryer turned on for few seconds and then stopped. Hasn't turned back on since. Their is power to the dryer as the light inside turns on. But when i press power button or anything else on the dryer, it doesn't turn on. No control panel power?
For model number DLE2301W
Hi Akin,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest first checking your door switch and your thermal fuse to make sure they are working correctly. They can also cause your appliance to not work. If they are working correctly then it may be your control board that is your issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Last night i ran my dryer. The dryers cycle was done, the lights on the control went off, but the dryer kept running putting out no heat. When i open the dryer door it will stop running, but if i close the door it runs again with nothing lite on the control panel. Also, if i try a new dryer cycle it will only run a few minutes, the dryer beeps like it has done the entire cycle but keeps running, no heat until the door is opened. But if i close the door it starts up again but there is nothing lite on the control panel. Do i need to replace the door switch or timer switch control board? Or something else?
For model number DLE4970W
Hi Joyce, thank you for your question. It does sound like you may want to check your door switch for being the issue. However for no heat issues you might want to check these parts as well: The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer has no power. I had to replace the door latch on the steam washer, would this be the same problem with the dryer?
For model number DLEX7177RM
Hello Susan, Thank you for the question. The most common part to replace would be the Thermal Fuse, PartSelect Number PS3530485. This thermal fuse acts as a high-limit thermostat, and shuts off the heating element when the dryer overheats by cutting off power to the dryer. If the thermal fuse has blown, the dryer will not start. These fuses cannot be reset, so if yours has blown, you will need to replace it. A common reason for the thermal fuse to blow on a dryer is if the exhaust vent on your dryer is restricted or blocked. Hot air will be confined in the dryer and the fuse will trip and stop the electricity from flowing to the gas valve or heating element.Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
My dryer will only shut off when i open the door. It will turn on as soon i push the plunger on the switch in even though i haven't turned on the power. I'm just assuming its the switch that is faulty?
For model number DLEY1201V

My dryer will stop mid cycle due to clothes hitting the door and making the dryer think the door is open. It happens with a small load as well. Which part do you recommend to fix this issue?
For model number DLEX3250W
Hello Tanner, Thank you for the question. If the door is not staying securely closed, I suggest checking the PartSelect Number PS3522843 Locker and the door strike, PartSelect Number PS3522825. Hope this helps!
I have a Kenmore gas dryer that will not shut off when cycle is completed. Also, when you close the door the dryer goes on with turning on the power button. I believe its the door switch, but no sure. Any thoughts?
For model number 796.91372210
Hello Timothy, thank you for inquiring. This is due to either a faulty Door Switch, this part number PS3529308, or Thermostat part number PS3530484 for your model. Good luck with your repair!

Dryer stays on only stops when you open door.
For model number DLE2250W
Hi Alicia, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the timer switch. The timer is built into the control board on this model, PartSelect Number: PS3646019. It is not repairable so it will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Wouldn't shut off
-Remove rear retaining bracket [ (3) screws f/ top lid and (2) screws f/ main chassis] -Remove top lid by sliding toward rear and lift off. -Remove front electronics display, (2) screws 1 on both sides. -Remove main harness plugs from main board -Remove main board (4) screws -The reverse to reinstall
Dryer work but wouldn’t shut off when finished cycle, had to shutoff from breaker
With a thin flat screwdriver I was able to pry out the old door switch, I replaced it with the new door switch, pushed back in dryer and so far is working since I installed a month ago.

Part works as expected and the repair was very easy.
I spent hours searching for a repair person and no one in our area touches GE products. I finally found someone 60+ miles away and they were not available for two weeks. I did a little internet search and found a video on how to repair my dryer. Thank you Parts Select for having available parts that our local guy said were hard to get.
