Microwave fan would come on when door open. Timer and unit would not switch on.
I looked up my problem on the internet and found a very helpful video. Microwave on video was different brand but the internals and methods were very much the same. The video made it simple and easy to fix. Found the replacement switch on the LG parts site and ordered. Two different switch types. One with red switch, the other green. Part was $7.28. Saved a bundle in service costs. Here is the repair video.

When the MW door was opened a fan would start running. Close the door the fan would go off.
Removed the MW from the wall. Took the top screws off the air vent. Then removed the two screws holding on the display. I then moved the display to its side and it revealed the micro switches. I removed the plug in leads from the micro switch one at a time. I did this with all three micro switches only one at a time. I reinstalled everything and plugged it in. No more fans starting when the door is opened.

Microwave would not power up.
Fun and easy fix for my kids.

The countdown timer was working but no "cooking" happening. Did not hear the familiar sound of the heating part working.

Determined it might be some simple switches for under $15 dollars. Bought one of each. They allow the microwave to turn on/activate by signaling that the door is properly latched. My wife noticed that it was failing and then failed over the course of about a day. Several times where it worked, then did not work. The timer was counting down one time and then when she opened the door the microwave heating component turned on. Guess it had activated the switch as she was opening the door.

Procedure to repair
- Unplug
- Remove two screws on front top - allows you to remove the vent. Realized there was a charcoal filter there that I had never replaced so ordered that after the fix.
- Remove two screws to pull off the front right panel (area where your microwave buttons are) One at the top under the before mentioned vent and one under the microwave on the far right corner.
- Have someone hold the panel because wiring is to short to place it on a ledge while connected or take a picture and remove connections. I simply held it while my daughter undid the micro switches.
- Carefully remove micro switches. There were two "orange" button ones so I chose the top one to replace along with the green button one that I had ordered, so I simply pulled an orange from the bottom and a green from the top latch area. You may have remove the part that holds the switches since it was a little tough with the wires in the way and not knowing how the switches stay put.
- plug in new switches and place in the brackets that hold them in place
- reverse everything you did.
Viola - a working microwave vs purchasing a brand new for several hundred dollars or having to call in a technician.I love that my young kids did this project with me and we actually got it running. Don't like to have to throw away more items at the landfill.

Microwave would not heat anything and turntable no longer turned.
I decided the door switch was the problem because 2 problems happened at the same time. I removed the 4 screws for the top outside cover and the 1 screw that held the control board. After removing the control board screw, I lifted it up and removed it. This gave me access to the 3 door switches. I then removed the 2 screws that held the plastic piece that holds the switches. This made it easier then to replace the switches.

The microwave seems as if it is operating normally, timer, light, turntable, but does not heat food. What part, or parts do you think i need to fix the problem?
For model number LTM9000ST
PartSelect logo
Hi Woody, Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your door micro switch. If that part is not working it will not allow your magnetron to activate and heat your food. You should also check your diode, and your fuse as well. If all of those parts are fine it may be your magnetron that is the issue. Good luck with your repair.

Microwave only works if i push on door.
PartSelect logo
Hello Vince, thank you for contacting us. That would be the door switch, it would need to be replaced. Some models have more than one switch in the door, you may want to replace all of them at the same time. Good luck with the repair!

Hello Dave, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the micro switches for the door, the exhaust fan motor, and the control board. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

The microwave turns on, but shuts off after a few seconds and the light goes out. Jeanette recommended to replace switches part number PS352923/294. Are there any more switches besides those two for the above microwave? Why does the light go out also? Is there another problem other than the switches?
For model number LCRT1513ST
PartSelect logo
Hi George, Thank you for your question. There are 3 door switches listed for you microwave. The part number for 2 of the door switches are PS3529294 and the part number for the third switch is PS3522736. If the light is going out after few minutes the issue would be one of the door switches and you will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

For our LG lmh2016st microwave the interior fan comes on when the door is opened. Everything else works fine. A video on the web indicated this could be corrected by replacement of one or both of the door switches. On your website the following two micro switch pns that look like what was in the video: Ps3522738, ps3529293. Which of them would be appropriate for the problem i described? Maybe one is for the top latch and the other for the bottom?
For model number LMH2016ST

Hi Matt, Thank you for your question. There are 3 door switches or micro switches listed under your model number. The part number for the switches that would fit in the top and the bottom of the switch holder is PS3522738. The part number for the switch that would go in the middle of the switch holder is PS3529293. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

When you put a item in and closed door and set timer and hit the start button nothing happens
For model number LMV1813ST

Hi Mark, Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not starting after you hit the start button, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the fuse, the micro switches, the lamp holder and the capacitor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Part #4002 in schematic shows continuity with door open. Parts #4001 show continuity with door closed. Is that correct or should #4002 show continuity when closes as well. No power displayed at all. Ceramic and tco both show continuity. Made a modest pop sound and then everything went dark. Any suggestions? Michael
For model number Lmhm2017st

Hello Michael, Thank you for contacting us. Yes, PS3529294 is supposed to show continuity in the open position and PS3519053 must show continuity in the closed position. I suggest checking the following parts: PS3522743 Fuse,Time Delay, and PS3529294 with the multimeter. Hope this helps!

Both ps3529294 and the one ps3592923 microswitches all test properly and the door latch mechanism properly engagesall 3 of them. Ps3522743 20 amp fuse, time delay, also shows continuity through it. There is no power display on the board on the board when plugged in. Door open or closed makes no difference. The thermal cut off ps3530459 also shows continuity but again there is no display of anything on the unit.

Hello Michael, Thank you for contacting us! I suggest now checking PS3530459 Thermostat, and PS3519053 Holder Assembly,Locker with the multimeter. Good luck with the repair!
