I have an fe code. What is the part number of the valve i need.
For model number WM0642HW

Hello Dan, thank you for your question. The FE code on an LG washer is almost always in relation to an overfill issue. I would recommend testing and replacing the faulty water inlet valve, There are two on the unit, the cold water valve (Water Inlet Valve 5220FR2008C) and the hot water valve (Water Inlet Valve 5220FR2006H). Good luck with your repair!

Does this new part 5220fr2008c 5220fr2006h hot & cold valve for the LG steam washer stop the fe code from coming up?

Hi Steve, Thank you for the question. The FE error codes indicate a defective Water valve. If you can provide the model number of the appliance we will be happy to verify the parts for you. Look forward to hearing from you!

Having intermittent FE errors where the washer keeps filling and draining. Does not stop after turning off or unplugging. I had to turn off the water supply. So, it seems there are two water inlet valves for this older washer (hot/cold). How do I determine which one is the defective one for this issue? Thanks.
For model number WM0642HW

Hi Gary,
Thank you for your question. You will need to test the water inlet valves with a multi-meter. Before beginning, ensure that you have unplugged your washing machine. The water inlet valve will most likely be found directly behind the hose connections. You will need to remove the rear panel in order to access it. Once you have located it, remove the valve in order to test it. Before testing it, inspect the screens inside the pump and the pump itself for any debris or damage. Be very careful when doing this as screens cannot be replaced, and if they become damaged the entire valve will need replacing. Set your multi-meter to Rx1 and touch the probes to the terminals. The reading of a functional valve varies from model to model, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what your reading should be. If you do not receive the recommended reading, you will need a replacement water inlet valve. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Drum was filling up with water after cycle fully completed
I watched the you tube videos to figure out where everything was. It is a really good idea to mark carefully which pipe goes where to avoid screw ups on re-assembly
The only slightly difficult thing was to locate the catches on the lower edge of the front of the washer top and press them in with the putty knife to release the top of the washer (They are approx 2" in from either side on the front of the washer on my model)
I chose to replace both the hot and cold assemblies - I figured it was the cold which had failed (the more expensive one) but as I had it apart it made sense to do them both.
It fixed the problem. Been two months now - There have been no repeat floods - its all good!
Shipment of parts was fast, and parts were correct for the washer.
I estimate it saved me at least $200 in technician fees by doing it myself. Thanks guys!

One of the values was no closing, washer was overfilling,
There are YouTube videos out there that are very helpful. The only place I had to deviate was removing the hoses. They were old and I couldn't separate them from the nozzles. I had to cut them and then remove the small piece on the nozzle. This made the hoses a little shorter and I have to pull them a little harder to get everything put back together but it seemed to all work in the end.
