Also known as a door boot seal or bellow and comes with a drain hole. Door boot 4986ER0004F is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some front-load washers in these series: Kenmore and Kenmore Elite 796; and LG WM and CW.
Door boot 4986ER0004F forms a seal between the wash tub and the door, preventing leaks.
This door boot includes a drain port; if your 27-inch LG front-load washer was made before September 2007, use door boot 4986ER0004B instead, because those washers don't have a drain port.

Why does the washer form black mold an the gasket to the door the mold cant be removed no matter how hard i scrub
Hello Trisha, thank you for your question. The gasket is slightly porus and holds the mold to the surface. It is usually impossible to clean this part. The part will have to be replaced. I hope this helps!

I am looking to replace the door gasket on my washer, but I cannot seem to find one without the a drain hole as my model does not have a drain tube to connect to. Should I order one with the drain hole and plug it somehow?
For model number WM2077CW
Hello Jake,
Thanks for your question. There is a door boot seal equivalent without the drain hole under part number PS3587000.
I hope this helps.

Replaced door bellow/ gasket and i still have a minor leak coming for the bottom of the glass door- what could be the problem?
For model number WM227HS
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your question. The door gasket should have fixed the leak. If it is still leaking I would check to make sure the clamp securing it is tightened correctly. If it is not this will cause the door to leak. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I ordered the new bellow (front door seal). I received part # 4986er0004f. The original part number is 4986er0004 no 5
The original part does not have the drain plug at the bottom but the new one does. so i installed the new bellow and of course it leaked right to the bottom of the washer. i thought maybe LG modified the part. is there another original part i need to use?
For model number WM2077CW
Hello Mike, thank you for your question. Per the model information in our site the correct bellow is 4986ER0004F. There is no replacement part other alternative. The company you ordered from may have sent the wrong part or ordered the wrong part for you. Please enter the part number into the site for current price and availability. Good luck with your repair!

Removing the Springs and reinstalling.
I followed various tube videos. The vides were very easy to follow. But the most important thing to have to do the job is washing machine spring removal tool. This tool I had to order it online unable to locate in store.

Gasket arrived quickly... watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to replace the door Gasket. I did buy the spring tool from Amazon. It was helpful, but if you have a extra helping hands ...no need for the tool. I'm a middle aged lady and I replacement it!

The part was perfect and after installation, everything was like new. Only issue was installing the retainer springs which are tough by yourself. But, I did it! Thank You.

Easy Repair & Good Product
I was a little concerned, due to the amount of disassembly required, but the repair went well with the aide of a YouTube walkthrough instructional video. After more than two years of complaints about leaks from the washer, it is finally fixed. In fact, it went so well, I’ve now fixed the ice maker in the fridge and the retractable stove hood in the island. For once in a long time, everything in the house operates as it is supposed to work. I would certainly purchase parts in future from partselect. Great product, good price, and came quickly.
