Freezer not making ice.
After reading numerous appliance repair forum entry's about failed evaporator fans I decided to order a new one first then disassemble ours and be ready to reinstall the new one when it arrived. After disassembling the inside of the freezer and getting to the evaperator fan, I found that over time the ice had built up around the area and separated the wiring connecter. Once reconnected, the evaporator fan works great. It's amazing how much better electrical things work when they're getting electricity, go figure? I'll be sending the motor back shortly.
Thanks, Warren

Ice was building up in the bottom floor of the freezer
This refrigerator/freezer problem had been escalating for almost a year, requiring me to frequently knock the ice buildup free with a rubber mallet. I finally decided to try to identify the problem by removing the freezer door and all of the shelves and shelf tracks (easily removed with only a phillips screwdriver). Then I removed the bac

I deduced that the evaporator fan motor was failing, which blows air over the freezer cooling coils and forces the cool air up into the upper refrigerator section (which was not staying cold). I then found and ordered the fan motor from part select. Their search function and exploded drawing schematics made it easy to identify the part and part number. It seems the original part number had been superceded with a new number, which I ordered. Once it arrived after about a week, I transferred the fan blades from the old motor to the new fan motor, and after completely drying out the freezer compartment, I reinstalled all of the parts and plugged in the unit and waited. By the next day, the refrigerator was operating at peak efficiency, and the ice buildup in the freezer has not returned. I was very close to scrapping the entire refrigerator as junk, but with a little diagnostic effort and about $110 for the new motor, I have a fully functioning refrigerator again. Thanks to Part Select for a great experience.

Hi Ricardo,
Thank you for your question. Yes, the fan that circulates air over the coils is the evaporator fan motor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Freezer working just fine refrigerator is not working, no sound of air circulating.
For model number 795.76202.901
Hello Gerardo, thank you for your question. If there is no air circulation, and no noise from the fan we would recommend replacing the evaporator fan motor PartSelect Number PS3523326. I hope this helps!

I noticed my freezer is working but the refrigerator is not. I have replaced the evaporator fan motor, but the problem still exists.
For model number LTC22350WH
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your question. If your refrigerator section is too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check compressor start relay, the evaporator fan motor and the defrost sensor assembly. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Hello John, thank you for reaching out. We would recommend checking the temperature control board, part number PS3521955, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
Making loud "growling" noise which stops when the left door of frige is opened. Also, the circulating air flow stops when door is open, but when the door switch is depressed, the growling noise resumes as does the air flow. Sound like a bad fan motor. Which part likely needs replaced?
For model number LFC 20760SW /02
Hi Clyde, thank you for the question. Sounds like you have a bad evaporator fan motor. With most refrigerators, the evaporator fan will stop when you open a door and it will start again when the door is closed. Test the motor for continuity. If faulty, replace the evaporator fan motor and bracket assembly, part number PS3523925. Good luck with this repair!
