The turntable motor coupler connects the turntable motor to the tray. If the turntable on your microwave will not rotate, you may have a faulty motor coupler. The coupler commonly has a D shaped opening that fits tightly onto the motor shaft. If it is cracked, or worn it will need to be replaced. This is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

The replacement part was exactly what was worn down.
Could not use the part because the roller wheels were worn down on the plastic ring. The new part raised the turntable too high. To match the new with the old, I modified the old coupler. I put a plastic shim inside the shaft. In order for the shim to stay in place, I used a dab of peanut butter. So far it is holding up. Sometimes you have to make due with what you have.

Turn Table Fixed
Ordered both the motor and the coupler/connector (between the platter and the motor). Installed both and everything worked great. Took about 15 minutes total, including cleaning the grease off the filters and cover/light. It looked like I could of just replaced the coupler and been good to go. However, it was cheap insurance to replace the motor as well.

Perfect replacement!
This part corrected a problem with my microwave turntable not rotating properly. The part was a perfect replacement for my damaged one and it was less expensive than other sources.

My microwave works great
My microwave has been missing this part since we’ve had it. Therefore food did not get cooked correctly since the plate did not rotate. But the part went in easily and the microwave works like it’s supposed to.

The new part was too thick for the worn out plastic ring which is obsolete.
Needed to raise the part to match the ring. I used peanut butter to hold plastic shim while replacing to hold it in place. Built in Oct. 2009.

Microwave will not heat up unless turntable is turning, is this normal? Sometimes it turns and sometimes it doesn't. Do i need to replace the coupler and is it as simple as just taking our the old and replacing with new.
For model number LMV1686SW
Hello Margo, thank you for your question. If the microwave is heating intermittently, I would check the door switches first. If the door switches are not functioning properly, it could cause the tray to not turn and the microwave not to heat. If the problem continues, I would look into checking the turntable tray motor. I hope this helps.
