What is the best way to replace the coupling assembly ps3522903 on top load direct drive LG washer. Also replacing the rotor sensor assembly & you responded to go through the back panel. Is that the easiest install method for this part also. Had thought on both from you tube tutorials that needed to lay machine down and install. Thanks so much

Hi Kathy, Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and turn off the water to the washer. Remove the water lines from the water inlet valve and be careful as some water may spill out. Carefully tip the washer back onto a padded surface, so it rests on the rear panel. Use an adjustable wrench and hit it with a hammer to help unthread the rotor mounting nut. With the nut and washer removed, carefully pull off the rotor assembly. Now use a 10mm socket to remove the mounting bolts securing the stator. With the nuts removed from the stator, use a 5/16th socket to remove the screws securing the actuator. With the screws removed pull and remove the old actuator and coupling off. Before installing the new actuator and coupling, make sure to apply some grease to the coupling. Then insert the coupling into the actuator. Align the large end of the spring into the groove on the coupling and then insert the actuator post into the clutch housing as you align the assembly. Replace the screws to secure. Realign the stator on the clutch and bearing housing and secure it with the mounting bolts. Align the rotor panel on the washer and secure it with the nut. Torque the nut to 88 foot pounds. Set the washer upright and then reattach the water lines. With the repair complete, you may turn the water back on and restore power to the washer. The washer should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
