The locker, or door latch assembly fits to the inside of the microwave door, and keeps the door closed. If the door on your microwave oven doesn’t appear to close properly, you may have a problem with the door latch assembly. This locker is made of plastic and measures 7 inches long x 2 inches wide. If either of the hooks is broken or does not have any spring tension, you may need to replace the assembly.

Door locker snapped off
Unplugged the microwave. I opened the door. I used a butter knife to pop the bezel off the inside of the door. I pushed the locker up and to the left and used the butter knife to pry it loose. Disconnected the locker from the spring, and reversed for the installation.

Microwave door would not shut completely and would not activate switches
After checking all three switches for continuity I determined that the plastic door lever had warped or gone out of wack. After shutting off power at the breaker box I removed the door, the inside trim piece around the inside of the glass. Removed the black two prong door lever, reattached the new door lever and then reinstalled the trim

The over the stove microwave door would not close.
I unplugged the microwave. I did watch a YouTube video to see how the plastic frame around the door could be removed. I used a putty knife to pry it off. The spring was still in good shape, so I hooked it up to the new latch/locker part and onto the microwave. This was just a little time consuming because I was trying to be careful so

I just ordered the locker and spring since the door won't lock into place. I need instructions on how to replace the parts on my model lmv1683st
For model number LMV1683ST
Hi Birol,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. You will need to remove the plastic lining around the inside of the door. There are retainer clips holding the liner in place and you will need to use a putty knife to remove it. Depending on the type of microwave you have, you may have to come in from the bottom or from the top to remove the lining. Gently slide the putty knife in between the lining and the frame and go around the frame and gently pry it loose. On the hinge side you will need to come in from the backside to pry the lining off. The door latch is held in place by tension. There is a spring that is usually attached to the latch and to one of the fins on the door to provide it. With the inner lining removed you can now remove the old latch. Install the new latch by slipping it into the slots in the door and attach the spring to the bottom fin to allow for tension in the latch. Reinstall the lining and close the door. Plug the microwave back in. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have to order the locker part number: 4026w2a019a and spring part number: 4970wra001b. I am having trouble figuring out how to remove the old parts and install the new ones. The original parts including the spring were damaged making it difficult to determine how they were originally installed. Does it sit behind the door frame? How is it removed?
For model number LMV1680ST
Hi Charlie, Thank you for the question. To remove the old locker and install the new one you will need to dissemble the door. Hope this helps!

Is this the latch that locks the door? I could send a photo of my microwave door to you.
For model number LMV1683ST
Hello Marcin, Thank you for the question. The locker, or door latch assembly fits to the inside of the microwave door, and keeps the door closed. These are the "hooks" that are on the door and insert into the lock in the cabinet. We hope this helps!
