This is a float manufactured to fit into your dehumidifier. When the dehumidifier is in use and water is being absorbed from the air, the float detects the water level in your dehumidifier water bucket. When the appliance detects that the water bucket has reached its maximum level, it shifts the float switch to stop the appliance from dehumidifying so the bucket will not overfill. If your bucket has been underfilling or overfilling, you may need to replace this switch. This float is white in color and made entirely of plastic. This is a genuine replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Whatever kind of plastic they use to make these replacement parts, it's much, much, much cheaper than the OEM. The float arrived quickly and fit perfectly, but just today I went to empty the bucket and found the float had worn out in two months in the exact same fashion that the original took nine years to get to. Support prong broke on float
1st of all, glued the broken prong that secured the float. Worked temporarily before breaking again. Started to trash the dehumidifier then looked online using the Model number. Parts select appeared thru the search and to my surprise, the part was available for under $20.00.
