Run Capacitor and Control & Display
I checked the ohms on the run capacitor saw it was bad. The control panel was disfigured also. After going to the partselect web site, I ordered the parts. Took about 5 minutes actually to replace the parts.
Partselect is a great place to fix a appliance problem!

How do you get the user control & display unit out of the door on Frigidaire freezer model # FFU14F5HWN?
For model number FFU14F5HWN
PartSelect logo
Hello Jerry, Thank you for contacting us. To remove the unit from the freezer you simply need to pry out on it with a putty knife. It is recommended to use tape along the edges to protect the finish of the freezer. I hope this helps!

My electricity went out last week, not completely, some of the lights were on in the freezer so i figured it was okay, but after the electricity was fixed, I noticed that the freezer was not running. The lights were on, but the food was thawing out. Any idea why? Is it shot completely?

Hi Judi, Thank you for your question. If your freezer is not starting, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the user control and display, the evaporator fan motor and the run capacitor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My freezer quit working and i don't know why. I know that it is a 10 year warranty but i cannot find my paperwork so that won't help although it was made in 2013.I am thinking that the power fluctuations/outages/partial voltages is what damaged my control panel that made it read real funky like. should i think about the compressor system???? steve

The "door ajar" alarm contiguously goes off, even after resetting the unit. The door light switch has tested ok with continuity on a digital meter. The switch will not turn off the light when depressed, despite it testing ok by meter. The freezer gets to 0*f on a '4' setting, but does seem to run continuously. I have already replaced a worn door gasket. The unit will not turn 'off' when adjusted to a setting of '1'. Am I stuck with replacing the electronic control module at this point?
For model number FFU17F5HWL
PartSelect logo
Hello Jay, Thank you for the question. If the switch and the Gasket is good and the Door is closing properly and level, the Control Board will need to be replaced. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
