My refrigerator will not freeze my food and it's freezing up on the coil. We tried resetting it but it will run and freeze up in the coil, even after defrosting the freezer. Also cold air is not getting to the bottom part of refrigerator and water is leaking from the top part of the freezer. It's a little warm and the setting is set to the Max for both location. Can you please tell me what need to be replaced?
For model number FTMD18P4RW1

Hello Mary, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the Evaporator Fan Motor PartSelect Number PS12728811 to ensure it is running normally. If the fan is operating, you can test the Defrost Heater with a Multi Meter to check for continuity. Hope this helps!

Fridge is in the garage. In cold weather the freezer is not maintaining 0 degree temps. Food is thawing out. What part do we need to fix this issue?
For model number FFTR1821QB9B

Hi Stephanie, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue. You should check your run capacitor and start relay on your compressor. If those parts are fine then you may want to take a look at your cold control thermostat as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Getting ice build up at air passage between freezer and lower ref. box. Defrost heater reads 55 ohms and defrost switch reads ok. No major ice at cooling coils. Door open warning beeper no longer works. Just enough ice to block air circulation.

My fridge will not freeze or cool but I can un plug it for overnight and plug it back up and it will work for a few days. one of the local shops told on the phone it was the heater do you think this is right
For model number HT21TS45SW

Hello Walter, We suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced

Freezer is warm and fridge seems to be working (40 degrees Fahrenheit average temp). If I turn the temp control down in the freezer, nothing happens. If I turn the temp control down on the fridge, both the fridge and freezer get colder. Then after awhile the freezer will get warm again. Would you known what parts I could test or replace?

Is there a way to test this part on my fridge before I purchase?
For model number FFTR1821QS5A

Hello Melissa, thank you for your question. The defrost heater can be tested with a multimeter. Before you can test your defrost heater, you have to remove it from your refrigerator. It is also a good idea to unplug the refrigerator. A defrost heater is connected by two wires, and the wires are connected with slip-on connectors. Firmly grasp these connectors and pull them off the terminals. You may need a pair of needle-nosed pliers to help you. Do not pull on the wires themselves. Use your multimeter to test the heater for continuity. Set your multimeter to the R X 1 scale. Place the tester's leads on one terminal each. This should produce a reading anywhere in between zero and infinity. If your multimeter produces a reading of zero, or a reading of infinity, then your defrost heater should be replaced. We hope this helps.

The freezer is frosting up I had tried a couple things like adjusting the temp and up plugging it for several hours but it still frost’s up. At this time the temp is set @ recommended setting and the temp is -30 F, and the fridge is set at the coldest temp and it is showing 45 F,
Your thoughts?
For model number FFTR1821TS0

Hi Ed,
Thank you for your question. If the fresh food and freezer sections of your refrigerator are too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the run capacitor, the cold control thermostat, the evaporator fan motor, the defrost timer, the defrost heater, the defrost thermostat and the condenser fan motor. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
