The multi-rib drum belt is also known as a drive belt and is a part for your dryer. The function of the drum belt is to attach to the motor pulley. It will then spin the drum as the motor rotates. Over time this part will naturally dry out. If your drum belt begins to crack or break, the dryer will not be able to continue to turn. If your dryer is running but your belt will not rotate, that likely means that it has been damaged and needs replacing. The tools you will need for this repair are a putty knife and a screwdriver set.

Hello Phillip, thank you for your question. The part number for the belt is 137292700. This part is the OEM part recommended for your appliance. The original belt is measuring a bit larger because it has been stretched over time. Please enter the part number into the site for current price and availability. Good luck with your repair!

How to change the belts on the dryer. This is a combo unit.
For model number 41793802200
Hi Ted, thank you for your question. We actually have a customer that wrote in with a comprehensive installation for this part: "Well, i started at the top and worked my way down. by taking the top off, it gave me more room to get the dryer tub out. took the two screw`s out of the vented plate on the back of the machine to undo the belt. this is a stackable washer-dryer combo, so next i took off the white plate on front between washer & dryer. took off the control panel, unpluged it, then took dryer door front off. then removed the two screw`s that hold that bracket on ,in the back of dryer, pulled the drum out & replaced the belt, but before replacing anything i took the shopvac to it , there was alot of lint in there.when replacing the Grounding Ball Clip & Grounding Ball, i took a one inch by two inch magnet and used it to hold the Grounding Ball & Clip in place so i could get the two screws started in the Drum Support Bearing & Bearing Bracket. after installing that i put the shaft in place & lined the dryer tub up with the 3 screw hole`s ,and boom, bang, pow...nothing to it" . I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I need to order a specific part for my dryer. But I don’t know what it’s called. I know what it looks like and where it’s located I even have a picture of it.
On the very back of the dryer inside, there are two sensors mounted to the upper left-hand corner on the inside the dryer behind the drum. I know that the top left sensor is a
Thermal limit sensor. But I don’t know what the other one is called and it is the one I need.
For model number Fex831cs0
Hi Earl, thank you for contacting us. The two mounted sensors on the upper left-hand corner inside the dryer are Thermal Limiter, part number PS419402, and the High Limit Thermostat, part number PS446428. We hope this information helps! If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Thanks again for your great question.

squeeking like crazy
well, i started at the top and worked my way down. by taking the top off, it gave me more room to get the dryer tub out. took the two screw`s out of the vented plate on the back of the machine to undo the belt. this is a stackable washer-dryer combo, so next i took off the white plate on front between washer & dryer. took off the control panel, unpluged it, then took dryer door front off. then removed the two screw`s that hold that bracket on ,in the back of dryer, pulled the drum out & replaced the belt, but before replacing anything i took the shopvac to it , there was alot of lint in there.when replacing the Grounding Ball Clip & Grounding Ball, i took a one inch by two inch magnet and used it to hold the Grounding Ball & Clip in place so i could get the two screws started in the Drum Support Bearing & Bearing Bracket. after installing that i put the shaft in place & lined the dryer tub up with the 3 screw hole`s ,and boom, bang, pow...nothing to it. it`s easy...parts came very fast....Thx PartsSelect.com...i`ve told all my friend`s about PartsSelect
This is a combo washer/dryer. First, I replaced the Idler Arm pulley but the noise didn't stop - it was easy to replace with two screws holding a access panel door in the back of the unit. Next I had to take off the front of the dryer unit to access the drum bearing and replace the dryer belt. There were many screws and electrical connections to remove. After replacing the drum bearing, there was a plate on the back that had to be held while attaching the screws from the front. Since I was alone, I taped the plate in place to hold it while I attached the screws.
Unplugged the washer/dryer combo unit from the wall.
Slid the unit forward on plastic bags until back and side were accessible (being careful of the dryer duct and washer water lines).
Removed the vented plate on the back to access the motor and idler arm using a LARGE-HEADED Phillips-head screwdriver.
Pulled out the broken belt.
Removed 10 of the 11 screws holding the top on (leave the center front one; undo the front corners last, taking care not to let the front panel slip forward — it supports the drum).
Opened the dryer door and gently pulled the front plate forward, supporting the drum from the inside with one hand so it didn't fall.
Worked the belt around the drum and between the front of the drum and the front panel. Held it mostly taut around the drum to slide it back to the existing belt mark. Grooved rubber side of the belt goes on the inside.
Pushed the front panel back into position while seating the drum on it. Temporarily attached the top with two back and two front screws. (The front panel overlaps the top; the top goes over everything else.)
Scratched my head trying to figure out how the belt goes around the motor shaft and idler arm; searched the web; searched the web some more.
Routed the belt left-to-right over the idler arm pulley, pushed the idler arm to the left, routed the belt around the motor shaft and then up over the drum.
The idler arm should (a) press on the OUTSIDE of the belt, (b) take up all the slack in the belt, and (c) not touch the motor shaft (touching it is what causes the awful noise). The belt should contact the motor shaft past the two nut-like things on the shaft (not between them).
Plugged the unit in and turned the dryer on to test it.
Replaced the other 8 top screws; replaced the vented plate on the back.
Wondered how I ever took having a clothes dryer for granted.

Broken Belt
I read the others repair story and it was a easy repair, my wife had a repairman come out and check it already, he stated to her that it was a major repair and that he needed to take it to the shop for repair, well he was full of sh##!!! The unit is a stackable washer dryer,if the screws inside the drum backout, the belt comes off and caused mine to brake the belt,my wife found the 2 small screws in the bottom of the tub, theres a small cover on the back that you remove and you can see belt drive pully! Follow the directions that have been explained on others listed it"s easy!!! Mike

The Dryer Drum Would Not Move. Motor Worked But Drum Didnt.
First I read the manual on how to replaced the dryer drum belt. Second I took off the front panel. This would involving taken all screws from the top of the dryer face and the front panel. Thirdly I removed the exhaust attachment. Then I saw that the belt broke. Really it looked torned apart. I believe too heavy of a load in dryer. I then installed the new belt and reversed everyhing I did to start. The dryer runs great. This is not that bad of a job. If you can do it yourself, why pay hunreds on a service man to do the job.

Dryer bearing failure
From previous responses on this site. I just followed their lead. If I had not found these folks, and the responses, it would have been a nightmare. It looked like and I thought the dryer came apart from the back! But in reality it comes apart from the front!! Absolutely fantastic site and help. Fast shipping, I ordered on Wednesday before Labor Day, didn't expect the parts until the following Wednesday, but received the parts on Saturday morning, and had the dryer back running by Sunday AM. Never even ran out of clean clothes!!!!!
removed top and front panel on stackable dyer unit. 3 screws at back of the inside of the drum, and the drum was out. installed new bearing and belt and all was good.
I removed the front access panel above the washer and removed the top dryer front panel. Then pulled out the drum and noticed the drum support ball stud had broken off, rather than order a new one, I welded it back on with a mig welder. I then replaced the drum support bearing and reinstalled the drum. I then installed the new belt before placing the front top panel in place. I removed the small vented panel on the back side to access the belt tensioner and fit the belt around the pulley and motor shaft. The whole job took less than an hour.
Customer responses / directions were great nothing to add - except no where does anyone mention "high temperature grease" for the Drum Support Bearing - only on the video is it mentioned numerous times. I honestly think it took longer to vacuum out all the lint then it did to do the repairs.
Removed drum replaced bearing with kit, replaced both front drum seals and drive belt. The only problem was when replacing the rear drum ball the three screw holes were poorly tapped and took several tries to get them in. The manufacturers could easily fix this problem. They could provide self tapping hex head screws instead of the Phillips head screws. Everything else went very smoothly.

Dryer Belt
The part was fine and the dryer is working. Biggest complaint was the shipping which I had paid for 2/3 days delivery. It took 10 days. It came by FedEx but I think the USP service would have been faster.
