Easy Repair
The job was easy after I figured out that the plugs need to be pressed firmly around their periphery so that the backside of the plug expands to fit tightly in what first appeared to be a too - big hole in the inner tub. My first impression was that I had been sent plugs that were too small because they were sloppy in the holes, but that was not the case. Everything now works fine.

Agitator broke & plug missing
Removed top of agitator and undid the bolt with 7/16ths extended socket wrench. Took out the full agitator. Three plugs had to be removed one was missing. They were in ruff shape. You have to push in the plugs until they snap in. Put in the new agitator and put the bolt back in.
The motor turned with loud noise ,but nothing else worked
I used "Emley's Cheap and Easy Repair" book to remove, install and reassemble the machine. A lot of time was used to clean the filthy tub and basket. While replacing the broken motor coupling I decided to replace some of the seals. PartSelect got the ordered parts to me in a couple of days. I wouldn't hesitate to d

How to install this part. Washer started making high pitch noise during agitation. Pulled clothes out and found this part inside the washer
For model number 285868
Hi Rocky,
Thank you for your question. To get to these parts you have to remove your agitator. Once you remove your agitator you will see 4 holes. If you have two holes that are bigger than the other two, that is the only place where you will replace these parts. The smaller holes do not have the filters. Good luck with your repair.

Lint is coming out of the hose and plugging my sink drain that it drains into. My manual says that there is a built in self cleaning lint filter but doesn't say how to get to it to clean it. I pulled out the agitator but still can't get to it. Is the problem the lint trap, and if so how do i locate it to clean it out?

What is the diameter of the holes that these filters fit into? Can they be used to addition to (instead of removing) the large circular lint trap under the tub? Thank you
For model number KAWS777EQO
Hi Gerry,
Thank you for your question. The diameter of the hole these filter plugs are inserted into would be approximately 1 inch. Your washer may use all 4 plugs or just 2 of them. These plugs and the filter help to keep your washer functioning properly. If you would like to place an order for them, please call our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!

i was looking at Tub Filter Plug Kit 285868.
how do i clean the filter? do i have to unbolt the agitator all the time.
For model number LSQ8243HQ0
Hi Dan, thank you for reaching out. Yes, to clean the filter, you have to unbolt the agitator all the time as it sits under the agitator. You may need to follow these steps to access the filter:
1. Disconnect your power source and open the washer door.
2. Take out part of the agitator and the small cap that is inside.
3. Use the socket to spin the agitator to loosen it.
4. Pull the agitator out.
5. Now you have access to the filter and you can clean it.
We hope this information helps!

The tub is packed with lint plunging the holes on the upper half causing bad odor. I will replace the filter plugs but how do i get the lint out? I have been trying to pull it out through the holes and that is taking a long time.
For model number LSR6132EQ1
Hi David,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately you would just have to clean them out any way that you can. You could try with a vacuum. Make sure that your appliance is unplugged before doing any in depth cleaning with it. Just in case. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Lint and marks on clothes, could it be the lint filter that needs to be cleaned?
For model number LXR7144EQ1
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for your question. If you have lint left on your clothes, check the ling trap and clean any excess lint from the trap and the exhaust hose. If there are marks left on the clothes, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. Here is a link from our website that you may reference on what parts to check, https://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSymptoms.aspx?ModelNum=LXR7144EQ1&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=3&ModelMasterID=64090&PID=45. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

How do i remove agitator . Cant budge it
For model number LSR52322LQO
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. Sometimes, if you use a rope or a ratchet strap and slide it under the agitator it can help give you some leverage for pulling up on the agitator. I hope this helps!

I have watched the video on replacing the lint traps. I have removed the agitator. I can not tell if what I am seeing is the same as in the video. I do not have any pieces that can be removed from under the agitator (perhaps my lint traps have all been destroyed?) There is a hard gray piece of plastic with ridges below the drum in each of the 4 holes. Do I place the new lint traps over that or is this not the correct part? I can send a photo if that is helpful.
For model number 11016202691
Hello Leah, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you may need to snap the filter plugs into the 4 holes with the hard gray piece of plastic below the drum. We hope this information helps!
