Water Inlet Valve with Mounting Bracket Specifications
The water inlet valve on your washing machine is used to fill the tub with cold, warm, or hot water for the wash and rinse cycles. This part could have either a blue or green-colored valve body. There are two ports for water to enter and this valve is compatible with a half-inch ID hose. It has two 3/4-11x1/2 NHT hose threads. You may have a faulty valve if your washer is leaking, has no hot or cold water, will not stop filling with water, will not fill with water, fills and drains at the same time, or is noisy. To confirm that the valve is faulty, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then the inlet valve is defective.

So when I looked through you side about slow water coming in (cold) to my washer you suggested I clean them, which I did. It worked for a little while and now its back to slow. I checked the water valves and the screens and they are clean. What should I do next? Just give up and buy new ones?
Hi Jacob, if the screens are clear then it sounds like you need to replace the water inlet valve 285805. I hope this helps!

Little or no hot water into machine, cold is ok. Screens in hose is clean.
For model number KAWE560WWH0
Hello Paul, If you've checked the screens, and if the inlet hoses are not kinked or obstructed you will might have an issue with your water inlet valve circuit. This valve has two solenoids that operate inlets for both the hot and cold water. You can test solenoids for continuity with a multi-meter. If the solenoid has no continuity is faulty. These solenoids are normally not available separately so you will need to replace the complete valve. Make sure you shut off the power or unplug the appliance before performing this test. I hope this helps!

I have Kenmore top loading washing machine. When you turn it on, the water comes on and fills the tub, but does not shut off when its full and it keeps flooding the room. What is my problem?
For model number 11022632100
Hello Lottie, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: water inlet valve, water level switch kit with pressure hose, hose clamp, and the water pump. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

I turned my washer on today and everything seemed normal and I walked away but when I came back I noticed it is not filling up with water (cold), what should I check for first?
Hi Harper, we suggest checking the valve that allows the cold water into your washer. It could be at fault and not staying open to allow the washer to fill properly. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Our washing machine has a persistent slow drip into the tub from the top when washing machine is not in operation. I assume this would indicate the need to replace the fill valve?
For model number LSR6132EQ1

My washer is taking FOREVER to fill up!! Neighbor said to check and clean the water valves but how would I go about doing that? I know where to find them but I’m not exactly sure what to do with them???
Hello Ashely, you need to remove the hose that is attached to the faucet and the valve, and then you can access the screens to push them out. we suggest soaking them in hot water with a splash of white vinegar to give them an all over clean. Best of luck with this repair!

My washer fills will water at the beginning of the wash cycle. It then washes the clothes and drains the water, but it will not fill with water again. It then continues to agitate without any water. It will also stop after the water is drained and I have to manually start the washer to fill it up with water again. What do I need to replace?
For model number LSR8233EQ0
Hello Amanda,
Thanks for your question. Check the pressure tube that connects from the water level control to the tub. It may be obstructed and should be cleaned. You may also want to test the water inlet valve with a multi-meter to ensure it has continuity, and replace it if it does not show continuity. If those parts are intact, consider replacing the timer.
I hope this helps.
Hot water connection was stripped and couldn't connect water line to washer
Unplugged it. Removed the two screws holding the panel on. This model had the screws on the front. Unplugged the wire harness and tipped the control panel back. I popped off the clips for the cabinet and slid it off the frame. On the back of the washing machine, I unscrewed two screws that held the water inlet valve in place. I unhooked the two wire harnesses on the inlet valve. Slid the clamp on the small hose back and pulled the hose off the inlet valve. Once I had the old part off, it was just a matter of doing it all in reverse. I did have to screw the metal plate that came with the part onto the part before I installed it. I put the small hose onto the new inlet valve and slid the clamp back in place on the hose. Put the new valve through the holes on the back of the machine, and replaced the two screws. Click the two wire harnesses back on, making sure to put the RED harness on the HOT valve (the holes have the stamp H and C on the back of the machine itself. Slid the cabinet back into place. Put the wire harness back on. Replaced the cabinet retainer clips. Slid the control panel back into the slots and replaced the two screws for it. That was it. All told it took me 15 minutes total. This was an extremely easy repair.

Replacing water inlet valve with new one
The instructional video that was attached with the part I purchased was spot on with very simple instructions. The inlet valve came with a metal bracket that was not needed for my model, so just tossed it. Was completed with replacement in about 30 minutes with help from my aspiring handywoman wife (would have taken 15 minutes without her)

water would not shut off
Shut off both water valves and used a cup to catch water from hoses. Removed top control panel that's held on with 2 phillips screws. Remove top screws on the back to gain access. Was able to access the valve by pulling slightly out on the top corner.

Decent price
Pros- I was able to find the part easily, the price was decent, the video was very helpful, and the part fit.
Cons-This is the second time I replaced this valve in the past 1 1/2 years. I am hoping this one lasts longer than the last one. WHereas the part is fairly straightforward to replace, I have to pull the washer out of the hallway to be able to allow for repair so it is not a simple repair in this case.

Old washer works like new!
As always, the diagnosis was spot on and the installation video was VERY helpful. The washer was taking forever to fill and was not turning the water off all the way when it did finally fill. My well pump had drawn sand into the lines and partially clogged the valve. I cleaned out the trap, but some sand may have been drawn in further than I could reach and may have damaged the valve. Having opened up the washer many times before, the repair took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Now the tub fills much more quickly and the water shuts off when it should.
