O-ring expanded and would no longer fit
Just put it in place and screwed it back together. The big box store (Home Depot) doesn't care about stocking parts to repair items they sell. I'm glad you here.

How do I install Part #FXHSC (Sediment Filter)
For model number GXWH40L

Hello Cuvier, Thank you for the question. You will need to unscrew the Canister from the cover and remove the old filter. The filter just sits inside the Canister . Once the new filter is in the Canister, you screw it back to the cover. You can use the Canister Wrench to remove. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week.
