Question:

Hi there, the water dispense works but no ice. I replaced the circuit board last yeas as well as thermistor. I have external water filter and bypassed the internal filter many years ago but ice maker worked fine. The dispenser circuit board is working fine. I reset the ice maker but still no ice. I also turned off the ice maker for a while. When i started back, i notice water flow out of the ice maker but stopped! Any suggestions and related part no is appreciated.

Masoud for model number PSC23MSTCSS
Answer:

Hi Masoud, Thank you for the great question. It sounds like your Water Inlet Valve (Part# PS304374) or your Ice Maker (Part# PS1993870) might be malfunctioning. You should test your Water Inlet Valve first with a multi-meter to see if that part is not working. Your water valve has two solenoids on it. One for your water dispenser and the other for your ice maker. The ice maker side might not be working. If you find that your water valve is fine, it is probably your Ice Maker that you will need to replace. I hope that helps!

Question:

My GE refrigirator makes ice ok. Water comes up to the connection underneath the front but not up to water dispenser. I set the freezer to the lowest fo 2 days but still no water from dispenser. I observed that a thermometer that i placed in the freezer shows round 10 degrees . Thank you

nikolas for model number gsh25jfxn ww
Answer:

Hi Nikolas, Thank you for your inquiry. The water inlet valve is the most common part that fixes this issue, but some other parts that may fix the issue are the water filter, the dispenser door solenoid assembly, the electronic control board, the micro switch and the union connector. You are getting water to the ice maker so I would suggest testing these other parts first to see if they are causing the issue as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

The water dispenser trickles out and the ice cubes are smaller than usual - so it's a low flow problem. I removed the filter and put on the bypass cap and now i get no water. Thoughts on what is wrong/what part would need to be replaced?

Tera for model number DSH F6VGBCCBB
Answer:

Hi Tera, Thank you for your inquiry. The most common parts that may fix this issue are the dual water inlet valve, the ice and water filter, the dispenser door solenoid assembly, the micro switch, the union connector and the water filter head and tube assembly. I would check on the filter and bypass cap where they were recently removed to see if this is the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

Hi. The nipple at the bottom of the water inlet hose broke off while I was screwing the brass nut onto the dual-inlet-water-valve. Can that be replaced? I do not see it on the diagrams i find on the net. Thx

Michael for model number PTS25SHSARSS
Answer:

Hi Michael, Thank you for your inquiry. If you are referring to the place on the valve where that nut screws on, you cannot get that separately from the valve. You will have to replace your valve. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

Hello, my problem is with the water dispenser. Its drips continuously into the little water tray. We have to keep a small glass under the dispenser to catch the drips. The ice maker works fine and have no problem there. Thanks for your help!

Jesse for model number GSH25SGRBSS
Answer:

Hi Jesse, Thank you for the question, sounds like you need to replace the water valve. The dispenser side of the valve could be stuck open a bit causing the water to leak. Hope this helps!

Question:

While moving this refrigerator out of our old home the water line snapped from the bottom where it runs up the freezer door. I was wondering if I need to buy an entirely new hose or if there is a small connector that I can use instead that would be an easier fix.

Stacy for model number GSHF5KGXCCBB
Answer:

Hi Stacy, Thank you for the question. In order to repair the hose the full hose its self would need to be replace as they do not offer a repair kit or a connector that can be used. Hope this help!

Question:

Hi, we live in an area with unusually hard water and often have issues with plumbing fixtures. Our 3 year old GE refrigerator pse29ksebcss suddenly stopped producing ice but still dispenses cold water. Is there a simple test to confirm that we should replace the dual inlet water valve wr57x10032 and not the ice maker? Thanks in advance.

Paul for model number PSE29KSEBCSS
Answer:

Hello Paul, thank you for contacting us. If you can still dispense water then it wont be the water valve. There is a solenoid in the ice maker that controls the flow of water to prevent over flow. If this is faulty the ice maker will not fill up with water to make ice. Hope this helps!

Question:

What should the coils ohm to on this water valve when it's good? Please let me know for each coil.

Matt for model number GSH25ISXBSS
Answer:

Hello Matt, thank you for contacting us. Because the reading can vary from brand to brand and from model to model, there is no one reading you should receive. However, if your test produces a reading of infinity, then the solenoid is bad and the water valve should be replaced. Hope this helps!

Question:

Water is freezing in the bottom of frig on the freezer side, the water despenser freezes no water and the ice cubes are wet and misses the ice tray.

Larry for model number GSH25JSXJSS
Answer:

Hi Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you might need to check both your ice maker and water inlet valve to see if those parts are still working correctly. I would first check your water inlet valve with a multi-meter to see if both solenoids on that part are still working. It could be that the valve is sending up water too frequently or too much at a time. Good luck!

Water constantly leaking from dispenser.

Instructions are excellent - no modifications. The problem was with determining what was causing the leak. GE, in telephone conversations, kept telling us to run several gallons of water through the system to remedy the problem, and suggesting we change the water filter (MWF). We discovered the remedy by looking through your listing of replacement water parts, till we found the commentary dealing with our problem. This is the second problem with the refrigerator solved by searching your catalogue and reviewing your demos. I'm afraid you have a customer for life (at least for the life of our GE appliances).

Water intake to ice maker kept freezing due to slow leak in valve.

The process would have been fairly intuitive, and the part is designed in such a way that it is impossible to hook anything up to the wrong connecting point. PartSelect's on-line video of the repair was clear and easy to follow -- the perfect primer to review before I started the job. The first part I received was defective, and although it functioned it leaked water onto the floor. This gave me the opportunity to engage PartSelect's unparalleled customer service department for friendly and incredibly prompt correction. I look forward to my next appliance failure just for the pleasure of doing business with this exceptional firm.
