Question:

Hi there, the water dispense works but no ice. I replaced the circuit board last yeas as well as thermistor. I have external water filter and bypassed the internal filter many years ago but ice maker worked fine. The dispenser circuit board is working fine. I reset the ice maker but still no ice. I also turned off the ice maker for a while. When i started back, i notice water flow out of the ice maker but stopped! Any suggestions and related part no is appreciated.

Masoud for model number PSC23MSTCSS
Answer:

Hi Masoud, Thank you for the great question. It sounds like your Water Inlet Valve (Part# PS304374) or your Ice Maker (Part# PS1993870) might be malfunctioning. You should test your Water Inlet Valve first with a multi-meter to see if that part is not working. Your water valve has two solenoids on it. One for your water dispenser and the other for your ice maker. The ice maker side might not be working. If you find that your water valve is fine, it is probably your Ice Maker that you will need to replace. I hope that helps!

Question:

My GE refrigirator makes ice ok. Water comes up to the connection underneath the front but not up to water dispenser. I set the freezer to the lowest fo 2 days but still no water from dispenser. I observed that a thermometer that i placed in the freezer shows round 10 degrees . Thank you

nikolas for model number gsh25jfxn ww
Answer:

Hi Nikolas, Thank you for your inquiry. The water inlet valve is the most common part that fixes this issue, but some other parts that may fix the issue are the water filter, the dispenser door solenoid assembly, the electronic control board, the micro switch and the union connector. You are getting water to the ice maker so I would suggest testing these other parts first to see if they are causing the issue as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

The water dispenser trickles out and the ice cubes are smaller than usual - so it's a low flow problem. I removed the filter and put on the bypass cap and now i get no water. Thoughts on what is wrong/what part would need to be replaced?

Tera for model number DSH F6VGBCCBB
Answer:

Hi Tera, Thank you for your inquiry. The most common parts that may fix this issue are the dual water inlet valve, the ice and water filter, the dispenser door solenoid assembly, the micro switch, the union connector and the water filter head and tube assembly. I would check on the filter and bypass cap where they were recently removed to see if this is the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

Water is freezing in the bottom of frig on the freezer side, the water despenser freezes no water and the ice cubes are wet and misses the ice tray.

Larry for model number GSH25JSXJSS
Answer:

Hi Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you might need to check both your ice maker and water inlet valve to see if those parts are still working correctly. I would first check your water inlet valve with a multi-meter to see if both solenoids on that part are still working. It could be that the valve is sending up water too frequently or too much at a time. Good luck!

Question:

Hello, my problem is with the water dispenser. Its drips continuously into the little water tray. We have to keep a small glass under the dispenser to catch the drips. The ice maker works fine and have no problem there. Thanks for your help!

Jesse for model number GSH25SGRBSS
Answer:

Hi Jesse, Thank you for the question, sounds like you need to replace the water valve. The dispenser side of the valve could be stuck open a bit causing the water to leak. Hope this helps!

Question:

My refrigerator dispenses ice, but not water through the feature in the door on the freezer side. I have disconnected the water line at the base of the front of the refrigerator (on the freezer side), and there is no water flow. In your opinion, what part might need replacing?

Greg for model number GSS25XSNABS
Answer:

Hi Greg, Thank you for your inquiry. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water inlet valve, the water filter, the dispenser door solenoid assembly, the electronic control board, the micro switch and the water filter head and tube assembly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

Suspecting th education line water valve. Troubleshooting water and ice dispensing problems. Eliminated frozen line and filter. Water pressure going to water filter is strong. Should i be able to see water flowing from the filter to the dual line water valve? I see no water flowing.

Gino for model number GSH25JSXLSS
Answer:

Hello Gino, thank you for contacting us. If you are not getting any water to dispense or ice to be mad, it could be the water inlet valve is faulty and not responding to the ice maker or dispenser when ice and water is called for. I would replace this part as it is the mode common for this type of issue. Hope this helps!

Question:

Hi got a water leak in the water dispenser area on the freezer door, outside of freezer door get a small area of condensation on the outside of door, shows the outline of a water line and water leaks out of the outer edge of the water/ice area, ive change the valve in the back buts it started again, can that water line in the freezer door be frozen, its getting weird, we get water and ice no problem, but a small amount of water drips from around that stainless trim at the control panel. Thanks

Richard for model number GSCS3KGYAFSS
Answer:

Hi Richard, Thank you for your inquiry. It is possible that the line in the door is leaking and its causing water to leak around the dispenser. You may have check your owner's for information on how to repair it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Question:

My ice maker doesn't have water in the ice maker slots.Do you think the problem is the water valve or ice maker. The water line to the drinking water works fine. Thank you

Richard for model number GSH25JSXLSS
Answer:

Hi Richard,Thank you for the question. If the ice maker is not filling with water it is most likley a defective water valve. Try to pour water into the ice maker to see if it makes ice and is working as normal. If it makes and dumps the ice, chances are the ice maker side of the valve is not opening. Hope this helps!

Question:

While dispensing water through the freezer door, the water flow does not stop when the receptacle is withdrawn, spilling water onto the floor, while we wait for it to stop. Anyone have an idea how to repair this?

John for model number PSS26LSRCSS
Answer:

Hi John, Thank you for the conquest. Normally this means the water valve is stuck open and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Question:

Hi. The nipple at the bottom of the water inlet hose broke off while I was screwing the brass nut onto the dual-inlet-water-valve. Can that be replaced? I do not see it on the diagrams i find on the net. Thx

Michael for model number PTS25SHSARSS
Answer:

Hi Michael, Thank you for your inquiry. If you are referring to the place on the valve where that nut screws on, you cannot get that separately from the valve. You will have to replace your valve. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

While moving this refrigerator out of our old home the water line snapped from the bottom where it runs up the freezer door. I was wondering if I need to buy an entirely new hose or if there is a small connector that I can use instead that would be an easier fix.

Stacy for model number GSHF5KGXCCBB
Answer:

Hi Stacy, Thank you for the question. In order to repair the hose the full hose its self would need to be replace as they do not offer a repair kit or a connector that can be used. Hope this help!

Question:

Hi, we live in an area with unusually hard water and often have issues with plumbing fixtures. Our 3 year old GE refrigerator pse29ksebcss suddenly stopped producing ice but still dispenses cold water. Is there a simple test to confirm that we should replace the dual inlet water valve wr57x10032 and not the ice maker? Thanks in advance.

Paul for model number PSE29KSEBCSS
Answer:

Hello Paul, thank you for contacting us. If you can still dispense water then it wont be the water valve. There is a solenoid in the ice maker that controls the flow of water to prevent over flow. If this is faulty the ice maker will not fill up with water to make ice. Hope this helps!

Question:

What should the coils ohm to on this water valve when it's good? Please let me know for each coil.

Matt for model number GSH25ISXBSS
Answer:

Hello Matt, thank you for contacting us. Because the reading can vary from brand to brand and from model to model, there is no one reading you should receive. However, if your test produces a reading of infinity, then the solenoid is bad and the water valve should be replaced. Hope this helps!

The valve had developed many leaks

Had the wife shut the water off, while I was on vacation. Came home pulled the refrigerator out. Had an issue earlier in the year with a leaking hose. Discovered the valve had many pin holes and was going to need to be replaced. Went on line to Partselect ordered on Saturday. It was easy to determine if I had the right part. Purchased and received on the following Tuesday. 30 minuted later the refrigerator was back up and running with ice and cold water. Have used Partselect before always a great experience

Ice maker not providing water upon demand

We bypassed the water valve and went directly to the motor and the water valve didn't affect the outcome, therefore the part wasn't necessary, we didn't open the new part. We will check out the ice maker itself to see what the problem, to order the correct part. Sorry.

Water valve leaked

Diagnosis: I removed the nuts holding on the panel at the back of the refrigerator and saw water leaking from the water valve.

Repair: I guided my 10 year old daughter through the actual replacement.

Using a nut driver, unscrew the single nut holding the value to the frame of the refigerator.

Push up the rings around each water tube to release the tubes from the value. Using a wrench, unscrew the supply line.

Put dab of plumbers teflon on the threads.

Reverse all the above:
Screw in supply line, tighten with wrench.
Push water lines for icemaker and chilled water into value assembly.
Position valve and screw in het nut that attaches it to the frame.
Replace rear cover plate and screw in the hex nuts.

No fresh water from door dispenser. Ice maker ok

Unplugged the unit and turned off the water line to the refrigerator. Removed the six screws holding the back cover. Removed the screw holding the outlet water valve. Unplugged both electrical connectors. Unscrewed the water supply line and cut the ice maker and fresh water outlet lines from the valve. inserted the fresh water and ice maker lines into the correct valve and connected the supply line to the inlet. Connected the electrical lines and remounted the Valve. Turned the water on and checked for leaks. Remounted the Valve and installed the back cover. Plugged the fridge in and ran the front fill until water came out (1:00 minute). Cleaned up and pushed unit back into cabinet.

Water dispenser stopped working

Changed out the double outlet valve which was pretty easy, after getting the right one, had the wrong part number for the first valve, not PartSelects fault, but still no water. Before changing valve, ice maker stopped making ice, figured the valve went bad on both points. After changing valve, got ice but still no water. Now what? Pulled the front cover off the freezer door where you get ice and water and found the bracket, } that holds the micro switch that works the water valve broken and the switch dangling. I screwed the switch back to the spacer between it and the frame and glued the spacer to the frame with plastic crazy glue.Got water!

Water relay valve leak

Rolled the fridge away from the wall, unplugged the unit from the wall outlet, and removed the back panel by taking out the 6 1/4" nuts that held it in place. Vacuumed the dirt and dust out, and sneezed viscously for 2 minutes. Removed the 3/16th nut holding the water relay. removed the inlet water line, and quickly replaced it. dried off, then went down stairs and turned off the saddle valve. mopped up the water, then removed the water inlet valve. Removed the 2 water lines to the unit (Ice and water feeds) and removed the 2 wire connectors. reversed the process in installation, except the drying myself off part, and sneezing from the dust and dirt.

No water from the door

After gaining access to the back of the refrigerator. I shut off the water valve and pulled the electrical power plug. I removed 6 screws from the access panel. I then removed 1 screw holding the water valve. I disconnected the electrical connectors. Disconnected the water inlet tubing with an adjustable wrench. I removed the water to the door and water to the ice maker by pushing in on the collar which released the tubing. I discarded the old valve and installed it in reverse order. Did not fix the problem. My next guess is the control module.
