Why this model comes with 2 defrost thermostats
What is the function of each
What is that part in between and its role
What to do if only one is not good ,do i have to replace both
What happens if i replace both by only one thermostat
Do i have to replace a thermostat with the same printed readings ( ex.L63 -30f) or can i move around a little
For model number Tbg16dacbrww ( GE -refrigerator )
Hello Ahmad, thank you for your question. There is only one Defrost Thermostat one your model, part number PS303484. It acts as a safety device against over-heating in case of mechanical failure. There is a Defrost Control, part number PS310972 for your model that acts like a clock. It continually advances and alternates between activating the cooling cycle and the defrost heater. The part in between is the Cycling Thermostat, part number PS310979. It monitors the temperature inside the freezer and has functions with the Ice Maker. What is the issue your refrigerator is experiencing? We look forward to hearing back from you!

my hotpoint has water on the bottom tray, i think its comming from the drain tube at the top panal by the refrigerator light . is this because my freezer drain is clogged ? Thanks Greg
For model number hot point ctx16cabblww
Hello Greg, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding of the issue, if water is coming from the drain tube, it is likely that the freezer drain tube is clogged. We would recommend cleaning the defrost drain. If the issue persists, you may need to replace the defrost thermostat, part number PS303484, to fix the issue. Glad to be of assistance!
