I must have punctured the hose somehow while vacuuming the coils and had water coming from under the refrigerator whenever the ice maker was filling with water.I was disappointed that the part I received wasn't the exact part for my refrigerator. It was a GE part but the duct that was attached to the tubing was too short and didn't reach my ice maker. Fortunately I was able to easily pull the longer duct from the tubing I was replacing, remove the short duct from the replacement tubing and push on the old duct. Intake hose to ice maker broke
After shutting off the h2o, I unplugged the refrigerator. Using the nut driver, I removed the cardboard backing. Then I removed the fitting where the inlet line to the ice maker and pried the old tubing from the unit. I then undid the clasp about 1/2 way up the back and removed the section that went through the back to the ice maker.

Note: Be sure to take off the protective covering from the white - sticky grommet and push to adhere to metal on fridge.
to be safe - use a bit of clear silicone chaulking round the perimeter of the grommet and push to tighly bond the water inlet tube to the fridge.
The reason for this - is that if you do not get a good bond using the white - sticky gormmet alone - you may have the water tube inside the ice maker freeze up.
Also once the new water line is installed be sure to secure the line to the metal back of the fridge - so the line will not move. some fridges come with metal hose clamps to do this - otherwise use duct tape

ice maker tube would freeze up
installed new double water outlet and tube assembly and it fixed the promblem. I think the water valve was leaking by causing the tube to freeze up inside.
Water leaking under the refrigerator only when water was called from water dispenser
To do this repair, I shut off the water supply first. After removing the back panel, I disconnected the first water tank (PS291933) tube from the valve near the back of the refrigerator by pushing the white ringclamp towards the valve which released the tubing (once disconnected I could clearly see the hairline crack in the tube responsi
... Read moreble for the water). I then disconnected the other water tank tube from the connector located in the bottom left front of the refrigerator. Then, after removing the bottom shelves and compartments, I unscrewed the two screws securing the water tank to the inside back wall. Then I carefully pulled the water tank and the tubing out from inside the refrigerator. The installation of the new water tank was essentially the reverse of the above, with the exception that I had to use a 2x4 to prop up the refrigerator and my 7-year old daughter's hand to help guide the tube to the front of the fridge. One of the lines did leak initially, but stopped after I removed and reconnected the tube more securely. My only unfinished business with this part of the repair (which I'm not losing sleep over) is I'm not sure where to find the 'insulation wrap' that was around the water tank tubes inside the fridge.
During my investigation of the water tank, I also noticed the tube on the outside back of the fridge going to the icemaker was leaking, so I bought a new grommet & tube (PS292253). Installation was easier than the water tank, but was more of a mystery until the part showed up and I saw that only adhesive tape was used to secure the grommet to the hole in the outside back of the freezer near the icemaker. Again, only had to disconnect the tube from the valve at the bottom of the fridge and pull out the grommet from the top outside. (I did remove the ice cube tray from the inside to avoid contaminating it during the work). Then I connected the new tubing and secured the grommet to the back of the fridge using the adhesive tape. So far no leaks!
I also will likely need to add that WR49X10173 part to hopefully avoid my water dispensor from freezing in the future.

Water is leaking on to the floor when we use the water dispenser. You can hear the water flowing through the frig but nothing comes out at the dispenser. Also some water in the frig.

Thank you for your question. If the water is leaking on the floor, it is very likely that the water line for your model or the water inlet valve has a leak. We suggest looking at the back of your refrigerator where the waterline connects to the water valve, and see where the leak specifically is coming from. My question is my icemaker quit working and my tube going to my icemaker is slow or it froze
Hello Ricky, Thank you for the question. If the line is freezing, you may need a new valve. The valve might be "stuck" open and allowing enough water through to keep water in the tube and sit until it freezes. You can also check the water line for any cracks or holes that would allow the cold air in and freeze the line. Hope this helps!

How do you gain access to replace this whole part?

Hello Andree, Thank you for the question. You will need to move the refrigerator out from the wall. On the back of the refrigerator at the bottom there is a metal cover plate. Removed the plate with a socket wrench to expose where the end of the tube plugged into the Valve. The white connector securing the tube has to be pushed up to release the old tube. Push the new tube into where the old one was installed and it will secured the tube. The other end of the grommet can be pushed through the hole feeding the ice maker. Hi Hilda, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Micro Switch in the dispenser and the water inlet valve. If either are stuck in an open position it can cause the dispenser ti leak. Hope this helps!

Where the 1/4 " waterline connects to the bigger line( not sure what size) that feed into the back, top lh corner of the unit, that brass fitting is leaking. Hi, this GE profile side by side 36 inch fridge is about 7 years old. Every month or so since 3 years, about 2 inches of water accumulates under the crisper. I am noticing black and white mold but particularly on the left side adjacent to the freezer. I am tired of constantly having to clean this fridge and considering buying a new one altogether! We thought that this may be due to the door seal? My son has just lowered the temperature of the freezer to 6 degrees...help?

Hello Kathryn, thank you for writing. The source of the leak could be this Grommet / Tube Assembly, part number PS292253 for your model refrigerator. Check to be sure it is not clogged or damaged. You may also want to consider the Water Valve, part number PS1483564 as the cause. You can get rid of the mold by flushing the whole area with chlorinated water, then clean it with mild detergent followed with a dilute chlorine bleach solution, afterwards flushing the area thoroughly to remove any chlorine residue, in addition to repairing the original leak.
