This part is the replacement door closing cam for your refrigerator. It is black in color and is approximately 2 inches by 1 ½ inches in size. The door closing cam raises the door to keep it from touching the refrigerator lining, and helps with the door opening and closing. If your door won’t open or close, or the door assist isn’t working, it could be an indication that you need to replace the door closing cam. You will also want to replace the door closing cam if it is cracked, broken, or missing. This part is sold individually and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Easy to replace
Easy to replace, got it quickly, But it didn't help to fix my problem. My problem is the refrigerator door will not close by it self like it should and then it will open back up when you close the freezer door, any suggestions?

Door would not stop when opened, slammed against cabinet
Never did repair. Parts ordered on April 3 and not received by April 18th! Email sent to customer service on 4/16/20 requesting full refund. To date no acknowledgement! Will not order from PartsSelect again.
Remove fresh side door off the hinges, replace the thimble door bot and door closing cam, very easy them remove door gasket, and install new no problem.
I had to remove the fridge door (side by side), which took approximately 10min (most of which was retrieving the right size socket wrench from the garage). With the door removed, I could replace the broken door closing cam and door stop... with 4 screws. Not much to it. Had the door mounted back on in another 5min and that was it. :)

Does this part keep the door from swinging too far back too fast?
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for your question. This part will help the door shut by itself. The part that will keep the door from swinging all the way back is the door stop. The part number for it is PS285193. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does this cam have the stop when the door is partially open? My door does not shut automatically when opened past about 30° because the stop prevents it.
For model number GSS25WSTASS
Hello Jason, thank you for your question. The door closing cam raises the door to keep it from touching the refrigerator lining, and helps with the door opening and closing. The door stop bracket stops the door from opening more than approximately 90 degrees. The parts are sold separately, and both parts should be replaced if you're having issues with the door closing. I hope this helps!

Fridge door doesn’t stay closed and swings too far open. Are there other parts that I should consider in addition to the door closing cam and the door stop? Thanks, Frank
For model number PSS26NSTBSS
Hello Frank, thank you for inquiring. You may want to replace the Fresh Food Lever part PS288340, the Fresh Food Door Gasket part PS8758487, or the Door Closure Spring part PS294790. We hope this helps.

Freezer door keeps coming open: When in the closed position the cam follower is not resting on the cam the wheel on the follower turns freely. I do not see any lifting of the freezer door. We have keep checking the door to see if it is shut
For model number dse25jshecss
Hi John,
1. You will want to make sure the leveling legs allow the front of the fridge to be slightly higher than the back.
2. Check freezer door gasket, wash the gasket if not sealed properly, if faulty than replace the gasket.
Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
Is this the correct part to order if my door won't close all the way
For model number GSE25HMHJHES
Hi Donna, Thank you for writing. We hope this helps!
