What is the black "handle" looking thing on the bottom of the freezer door - connected to the hinge? Is this a hinge adjustment? The reason i ask is that my fridge door closes on its own. The freezer door doesn't - anymore. I don't think its a level / tilt issue. I suspect something is going on in the freezer hinges, as the door closed just fine for several years, and then, suddenly, stopped closing on its own.

Hello Richard, Thank you for your inquiry. The black door stop controls how far the door will swing open. If it is damaged it can cause the door to swing open too far. I would check the screw, the door stop and the hinge first if your door is not closing properly. You may also have an issue with the magnets in the door gasket as well. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your answer to my last question. Now I have more info: I replaced the gasket, rubbed Vaseline on the seal area, and used 3-in-1 oil on the hinges. Freezer door still won't close on its own. But I noticed something I didn't see before: When the door opens more than about 1 inch, the door drops about 1/4" on its hinges, so to close it again, it has to be pushed a little to overcome the door weight and go up about 1/4" again on both hinges. Are my hinges bad? Or is this in the hinge design? Note: The fridge door always closes easily on its own, so I know "tilt" is not the problem.

Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the center hinge. It is located between the freezer and Fresh Food door. There is a pin that sits in the hinge that holds the freezer door. If it is damaged, it can cause these issues. Hope this helps!

Just one more question (related to my previous question), before I remove the freezer door to check for myself and order parts: For the freezer door, what parts go on top of the hinge pin? Just the door stop and gasket? Or is there some other part that could wear-out between the (lower) hinge pin and the freezer door?

Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. There is a Hinge Washer on the top of the pin, Part Number: PS283595. Hope this helps!

Does this kit cone with both belts? How does this attach to my refrigerator freezer door? Is this something I can I stall myself?
For model number GTH181SXCRSS
Hello Viktoria, thank you for getting in touch. The freezer door stop, part number PS285166, is compatible with your model. It is sold individually. The screw that will work with this part is PS1020128. To replace it, you may follow the following steps. These may not be of the exact model but will help you with the process: open the freezer door. Unthread the two mounting screws securing the door stop. To install the new door stop, align it on the bottom of the door so the flat side of the stop is facing the outside of the door. Then thread and tighten the two mounting screws with the new door stop installed. We hope this helps!
