What on earth is the difference between this and wr02x12008? I have replaced my fan motor but it’s making an awful grinding noise.

Hello Susanna, Thank you for the question. The WR02X10098 is shown in the Condenser fan diagram and is used for the Condenser fan. You will need the Grommet for the Evaporator fan in the freezer WR02X12008. Hope this helps!

Condensor fan out of service
The only part that I should had used was the condensor fan motor, which it was so easy to remove, and instaled the new one, then replaced the missing parts and problem solved. The technician before me,declare the unit a total loss, there for after doing that, he took the rest of the parts with him for his own benefit. The repair was with no difficulty, and time spend around 20 min. Thanks.PartSelect, your delivery and easy way to place an order is great. Thanks. Joel

The condensor fan in the unit appeared to have been chewed by a mouse and would not function and the lower door was too low.
The condensor fan in the unit appeared to have been chewed by a mouse and would not function. We had a service call to verify this and ordered the parts. Delivery was extremely quick and we were able to complete the repair and place the unit back into service within 2 hours.
All that was necessary was to remove the bottom cardboard cover, replace the fan and grommets, and replace the door bushings.
Thanks!!

my condensor fan made squeeking noise
took one screw that held the whole fan housing on, its a tight fit to try and pull it out cause of the copper lines in the back so I just turned it enough to where I could get to the 2 screws on the fan bracket, took the old fan and the rubber grommets out and replaced them! Put everything back together and works like new! Nice and quite! Plus I saved about $200-300 if a tech. would have came and fixed it!

A rat had chewed half of all four blades off
First I removed the left condensor fan motor bracket nut, loosened the right motor bracket, dropped the moter bracket down freeing the motor from the rubber grommets.
Pulled the fan off from the motor shaft, pressed the new fan on the shaft and installed new grommets. Replaced the motor bracket and tightened the right bracket nut and checked fan for clearance and free spin. Reinstaled the left bracket nut. Turned on the refrigerator and checked fan for action. Everything worked great.
I did not know the fan replacement came with a compression ring already installed, so now I have an extra compression ring.

Noisey Compressor Cooling Fan
Wow, end result was amazing. I had to place my ear close to the refrigerator to find out if the fan was working. So quiet. Prior to this we could hear it in the bedroom. I replaced the fan motor, blade, grommets, i.e. the whole fan train. There were two screws holding the fan which were removed. (After removing the back panel.) Then removed the old blade and dust cap. Detached the wiring harness at the junction. Then reassemble in the reverse order. I screwed up the 1st time...installed the front motor grommet in reverse. Fan blade was not centered. Resulted in a few mins rework. Actually spent more time cleaning all the dust from the compartment and behind the refer than it took to install the new fan system. Did I say that I couldn't be more pleased with the no noise result?

Fan making an intermittent loud noise
Well the repair would have consisted of simply removing the old fan, and installing the new one, however, the replacement fan sent had a female connector on it, when it should have been a male connector. So, I had to take the connector off the old fan, and splice it onto the new one. This turned a really simple job into more of a project, which I was not planning on.

Fan motor was making an intermittent (very annoying) squealing noise.
Located the model number on the inside wall of the unit. Wanted to make sure to order the correct product.Because of the age of the refrigerator I ordered the rubber mounting grommets. In this model the mounting frame is built at an angle that makes the removal and reinstall very easy. Remove two screws and the motor is loose. The fan blade easily pulls off the shaft of the motor . Clean up the fan and reassemble.

1) TURNED POWER OFF FROM REFRIGERATOR 2) REMOVED THE FREEZER SHELF FIRST BY GENTLY TAPPING THE LEFT SIDE UP AND OUT THEN THE RIGHT SIDE UP AND OUT 3) REMOVED THE 2 PHILLIPS SCREWS HOLDING THE EVAPORATIVE FAN COVER IN PLACE 4) GENTLY PUSHED THE COVER UP AND MAKING SURE THE 2 CLIPS WERE NOT DAMAGED 5) VERY GENTLY PUSHED UP ON THE STYRO FOAM SHIELD GRASPING IT FROM THE BOTTOM, BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO CRACK OR DAMAGE THIS 6) THEN REMOVED 4 OF THE PHILLIPS SCREWS HOLDING THE BACK PANEL 7) THEN REMOVED THE 2 SCREWS HOLDING THE FAN MOTOR IN POSITION ON THE BACK COVER AND LAID THAT ASIDE 8) I COULD THEN SEE THE MOTOR SO I UNCLIPPED THE RED/DARK WIRE CLIP FROM THE HARNESS WITH MY FINGERS, THEN TOOK MY NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND GENTLY PULLED UP ON THE GREEN GROUND WIRE 9) I THEN REMOVED THE 2 PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS HOLDING THE MOTOR BRACKET TO THE WALL OF THE FREEZER 10) THEN REMOVED THE ENTIRE MOTOR AND PUT THAT ON THE KITCHEN TABLE 11) TOOK MY NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND VERY, VERY GENTLY PRIED OFF THAT LITTLE METAL RING HOLDING THE FAN BLADE ON (TRICKY SO LEFT UP GENTLY)...I BOUGHT ADDITIONAL IN CASE I DAMAGED IT 12) TOOK MY 5/16 NUT DRIVER AND UNSCREWED THE TOP METAL BRACKET HOLDING THE MOTOR 13) LIFTED THE MOTOR OFF AND LOOKED AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM GROMMETS TO SEE IF DAMAGED OR CRACKED (I BOUGHT ADDITIONAL GROMMETS IN CASE THEY WERE CRACKED OR DAMAGED, EASY FIX) 14) THEN ATTACHED THE NEW MOTOR AND BASICALLY SIMPLY DID EVERYTHING IN REVERSE TO INSTALL THE NEW MOTOR. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR SCREWS IN ORDER SO YOU CAN IDENTIFY WHICH PART THEY CAME FROM. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT PINCH AND WIRES WHEN RE-INSTALLING THE MOTOR. SAVED ME A REPAIR PERSON CALL.

Great customer service!
I actually bought a condenser motor fan, the fan, the grommets and rings. I'd never replaced any parts like this before and found it to be a little intimidating! I called your customer service department and the agent not only assured me I was buying the correct parts, but he also felt certain I could do the job! He sent me a YouTube video......and after watching it, I gained enough confidence to pull out socket wrenches and go to work! I had the parts I needed and the repair went without a glitch. As I did the work I also felt confident that one of your agents would be able to help if needed, but it turns out I was able to easily do the installment myself!! My refrigerator works like brand new again!! Thank you for having such a knowledgable and reassuring customer service staff!!
