The dryer drum turned ok, but the gas heat did not start.
First I found and watched three videos on how to open the dryer and replace the igniter. Then I opened the dryer, but I did not remove the belt as suggested in the video, and then I removed the ignitor and flame detecter as the videos had shown. I got on-line and ordered the new parts from PartsSelect in the afternoon and had t

Gas dryer was not getting hot and smelled like gas inside drum
Removed lower front panel and then front including door (need to remove the top to access screws.) Replaced both the ingiter and heat detector. The tricky part was getting access to the long tunnel-like bracket that houses the igniter. Washer and Dryer are in a tight cutout space in very small laundry room.

Dryer squeals each load, and have to run loads through twice the normal cycle to dry completely.
For model number GTDP740GD0WW
Hi Wanda, thank you for your question. You may want to look at your rollers, idler arm, and your motor for being the issue. It sounds like they may either need to be changed because your drum may not be spinning as fast as it needs to be. I would suggest checking your pulley and rollers first. Good luck with your repair.

GAS DRYER RUNS BUT NOT HEATING. REPLACED IGNITER AND CHECKED ALL THERMOSTATS AND FUSES FOR CONTINUITY ETC.ALL ARE TESTING OK. CLEANED OUT LINT ETC, PUT BACK TOGETHER STILL NO HEAT . PLEASE HELP
For model number GTD42GASJ2WW
Hi Michael, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description, the issue is probably with flame sensor, part number PS268031. The flame sensor monitors whether the igniter is hot enough to ignite gas to light the burner. We would suggest checking the sensor to fix the issue. We hope this helps.

Our dryer no longer auto shuts off when the clothes are dry. I figure there is some sort of sensor or thermostat on this older model GE Dryer. Searched the parts list but didn't find anything. Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. Which part and where in the dryer it is located would be great. Thanks.

Hello Joaquin, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the moisture sensor to solve the problem. The moisture sensor bars for your model do not come separately and they come as a part of the lint chute assembly, part number PS11763093. We would recommend replacing it to solve the problem. Glad to be of help!
i can see the dry glowing, it heat up a little bit and takes twice as long to dry clothes.
For model number GTD33GASK0WW
Hi Brent,
Thank you for your question. If it takes too long for your dryer to dry your clothes, we recommend checking the lint filter, the lint filter duct, the exhaust tube, and the exterior vent for lint build up. If these parts have a build up of lint in them, they will need to be thoroughly cleaned as a build up of lint can prevent air circulation. Also check the blower wheel to ensure it is firmly attached to the shaft. Inspect the blower wheel, and it’s housing, for any signs of wear or damage. You should also remove any foreign objects you may find near the blower wheel. If you find any signs of wear or damage, you will need a replacement blower wheel. We hope this helps!
