Dryer was shutting off too early, before clothes could dry
Replaced High limit thermostat per video on the website. However, the flange of new thermostat is flat, while chassis it mounts on is round to conform to drum of dryer. So new thermostat was not flush with chassis. Dryer did not shut off early (that problem solved), but instead continued to dry clothes beyond time necessary. Note that old thermostat had one side of flange slightly bent and probably more flush with chassis, and better able to sense when hot temperatures were reached. I dismantled dryer again, slightly bent new flange, re-installed. Seems to work better now .

After my dryer runs for a while it shuts off. If I wait a bit it will start again and run for approximately 20 minutes and shut off again. The vent is free and when running the exhaust is fine. I am assuming there must be some kind of high temperature shut-off that is not working correctly. Please advise and recommended a replacement part?

Hello Steve, Thanks for your question. We would recommend testing the high limit thermostats and the cycling thermostat with a multimeter to see if they have continuity. Replace them if they have no continuity. Check if the knob insert clip is intact as well, as perhaps the knob is not selecting the cycles properly. If all of those parts test properly, it may be an issue with the timer itself. I hope this helps.

The flame ignites as usual. The dryer runs fine for about 5 minutes, then the flame shuts off and the dryer runs cool for the rest of the cycle

Hi Kenneth, Thank you for your question. If the dryer is shutting off too soon, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the high limit thermostat, the interlock switch, the inlet control thermostat, the duct felt seal, the door latch, the drum bearing slides, the door strike, the drive belt and the door switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
