Product Description
Hinge Arm Link Specifications
The hinge link on your dishwasher connects the spring to the dishwasher door hinge. If the hinge link becomes cracked or damaged, you may not be able to shut or lock your dishwasher door properly. In this case, you will need to replace the hinge link. Pull out your dishwasher to inspect the hinge and spring, if the link is broken, it may be disconnected and on the ground already. If not, you can remove the hinge arm link by simply disconnecting it from the hinge and spring, then replacing it with the new part. The hinge arm link is a small piece of white plastic about an inch and a half long. It is sold individually, and is an OEM part from the manufacturer.

plastic hinge arm link broke causing door to flop open
First I had to unscrew screws under the counter then pulled built in dishwasher out from under the counter, attached hing arm link to right side bracket on door, and the other end I attatched to a spring at the back of the unit. Thats it! and pushed the dishwasher back into place. All back to normal....by the way Im a 67 yr old great grandmother...

Hinge arm link wore out
Used Phillips screwdriver to undo brackets that keep dishwasher in place. Pulled out dishwasher from underneath the counter. Placed hinge arm in spring, hooked spring onto clip, placed hinge arm in clip. Put back dishwasher under the counter and screwed in place. Took all of 15 minutes. Saved 185.00 for service call.

The door dropped all the way down
The repair itself was simple. I replaced the broken plastic pulley and the cable attached to the door and spring because one end was bent. I also had to remove the fitting that held the pulley in place. In order to access the spring, I had to pull the dishwasher way out and that required disconnecting the water supply, the drain tube, and the electrical wiring! Then I had to reconnect everything. So although the repair took less than 30 minutes, the rest of the work took a couple hours.

GW Dishwasher Hinge Arm Link
Very easy repair with the instructions and video on-line. Very inexpensive too!

Easy repair once the side of the dishwasher is accessible
Simple part, easy fix, once the dish washer was pulled from under the cabinet. [Disconnecting the water supply in order to pull the dish water is not so simple, nor is reconnecting.] Took a week or so (as advertised) to get the part; seemed awfully long. The plastic part itself (a portion of an otherwise all-metal spring system) seems to be a contributor to planned obsolescence of the dishwasher by the manufacturer.

What can be better than "the part arrived faster than expected, it was the correct part and it worked" so you have to love it when everything comes together.

Part good, repair required help
The part was great, but I still needed my contractor to install it. I couldn't figure out how to remove the dishwasher enough to get access. The contractor fixed it quickly. It was exactly the right part.
