I just moved into my home and this morning, when i went to wipe down the inside of the micro door, i noticed the thin plastic film is still on it! I have done some reading online and it appears that thin film is supposed to stay on the inside of the door. Can you confirm that? I may have punctured it with the tip of a knife. I was so sure that film should have been removed. When I move a cloth across it or my hand, it makes a crackling sound like it wants to come loose but there isn't a chink anywhere in the perimeter that will allow me to remove it.

Hello Sharon, Thank you for the question. Yes the film is suppose to stay on, but it should not be making a noise when touched and sounds like it might be peeling away and need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Had a fire in M/W, melting the film and also the spinner cover
Removed old film, installed new horizontally and pulled it downward (match it along the top first). The cover required 2 "hooks" to be removed, only needed 4 clips. Used a screwdriver to remove the 2 clips.
