The u shaped clip bronze in color looks like it attaches two coil leads together. Is this correct and if so which 2 leads are connected? Our new burner does not work on 3 heat settings. Looking at the picture i cannot read the instructions that are included with this element. Can you somehow send instructions?
For model number WB30x354

Quick question, what is the purpose of the brass 2 hole metal strip that comes with the ceramic terminal block parts pkg and where and when is it used with the 3 prong surface element? Did not see it in old terminal block. Thank You
Hello Lou, Thank you for the question. If you only have two wires feeding the element than you will need to use the brass 2 hole plate that comes in the kit. It will bridge the two free ends. One of the two wires will also attach to one of the screws that secure it into place. If you have three wires feeding your old element then the bridge will not be used. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Replaced old burners
Both the eight inch burner and the the six inch burner were not an exact fit. I used the old rings and the new burners. The eight inch burner fit well with the new drip bowl;however, the six inch burner did not fit with the six inch drip bowl and I had to grind off about an eigth inch from the diamiter of the drip bowl. I replaced most all the wiriing and after I get the lower oven element rebuilt it will be ready for a test drive ..can't wait!
It was pretty easy. I just had to remove two screws, remove old element, connect new element and put screws back on. For the burners all you had to do was disconnect old one and reconnect new ones. The parts even included new ceramic covers for the wires.
50+ Yr Old Cooktop Burner had one of its two coils burn out
The hardest thing was finding the part to order! The GE Cooktop is from 1957 when the house was built. I followed the instructions that came with it. After seeing where the screw on hinge was supposed to be, I cleaned away the caked grease and finally saw the screw. I had to use a nut driver to remove it since it didn't have a slot for a screwdriver. Once that screw was out, the rest was easy. Before disconnecting any wires, I laid the new and old parts beside each other and drew a diagram showing where each wire (red, black & white) connected. It was a bit scary stripping the wires since they were old and fragile. It said to bend them into a "U" and solder but I didn't have soldering skill or equipment so I just tightened the screws holding the wires carefully. The connections are all nicely isolated in the bakelite insulator so it didn't seem cruicial. After working the new unit into place and turning on the power (at the circuit breaker), the burner worked perfectly. The replacement part looked exactly like the original. I was so amazed to be able to obtain the replacement burner after all these years! Thank-you PartsSelect!

Find, Order, Receive & Replace electric stove burners
Teh instillation was a simple matter of removing the old burners and replacing them with the new ones. Removal required the screw connector on each burner ring to be loosened and the reverse done when the new one was installed. The hardest part was finding the correct burners since the Model number of the stove was not in anyones file. This web site provided adequate pictures of the part to permit identification of the likely part to order. Thanks.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the four wires The element i request was 3 elements and i received two element but it was very easy i connect only the 3 wires.

Burner element damaged and needed replacement.
This part has the trim ring attached. My old element had the trim rim detached. This new part still fit my stove top and works fine.

Old surface burner burned out one of its two circuits.
I unscrewed the old burner from the stove, took off the three wire to the heating element marking down where each colored wire went, taped off the exposed wires, ordered the new burner, and waited for it to arrive. When it got here, I installed it, and believe it or not, the new burner works just fine!. End of exciting repair story.

Works but sort of.
The burner works. I think my controls at the higher settings could be bad. Have no hi or 2. Its an old stove and oven. Probably 50 years. Happy you had a part for me.
